I am trying to get this Board back in line with the vision of the Board
I am trying to get this Board back in line with the vision of the Board.
A Bible DISCUSSION Board.
For this to happen all of us need to stay on topic of each thread.
ALSO all of these rabbit trails that we go on knit-picking every little word to death tends to kill the thread.
AND for those who are here to do NOTHING but disagree WITHOUT giving Scripture to base your disagreement on leads to the "he said and then she said" thread and that kills the discussion as well.
AND this IS a DAKE BIBLE DISCUSSION BOARD - So in the End... in respect to Dake let's give his teachings the final word.
I would like for threads to go something like this.
1) A thought, question, preposition is stated, BASED upon some Scripture.
2) Some chime in with added agreements, BASED on Scripture.
3) Some chime in with added disagreements, BASED on Scripture.
4) Arguments are stated and given, BASED on Scripture.
5) Hopeful BOTH sides will grow and some minds be changed so that agreement is reached.
6) At the end of the discussion, I will If needed, gives Dake's view and close and lock the discussion.
AND think about it threads that go on for 100's of pages are really counter productive.
WE will all have to recognize that sometimes someone will not see it our way.
WHEN that is the case DON"T keep arguing the point, just let it go and move on in Christian love.
Hopefully we could have a Bible topic discussion that people over the internet could come here and read PAST discussions and be blessed... A lot of the topics and discussions we now have do NOT fit that description.
Think about it... We have a few active participants to this (old style) Board. I think some of this "I am here to prove someone wrong" "I know more than you" "I am ALWAYS against this or that (my favorite doctrine)" "I ALWAYS ask questions but never answer them" attitudes are part of the problem.
So help me out here if you will please.

I fully support the idea of reining in some of these discussion that have either strayed off topic, or continue to go around in circles with the same point and counter-point.
And while you said this is a Dake Bible Discussion Board, thus Dake’s teaching has the final word and humbly submit that God will have the final word on the disagreements, but for the sake of discussion here, I concede the point.

My point is, this board is a place that people come to in the first place because they are interested in Dake. So if they come and read something posted by someone who does not support Dake then they may not know that… and think by mistake those are Dake’s views.
So that is my point in letting Dake have the last word.

You need to incorporate a “like” button.bibleman wrote: ↑Mon Aug 02, 2021 8:38 pmI agree.Grandfather wrote: ↑Mon Aug 02, 2021 8:34 pm I fully support the idea of reining in some of these discussion that have either strayed off topic, or continue to go around in circles with the same point and counter-point.

As to the rest, I believe we are in agreement.

I agree ! Comments should be geared to the Bible alone. Bro Dake left us with a legacy!

We do have a "button" for similes, and it includes a "thumbs-up".
