How could Jesus the handyman not make a lot of money?

He installs a door for someone. Well did he do a GREAT job at a great price, OR a bad job at a high price? I think the answer is GREAT job GREAT price.

The person he installed the door for is so impressed they tell everybody OR they are mad at his terrible work and bad mouthed him all over town? I think the answer is they told everybody.

Result Jesus has more work than he can take care of and hires many workers moves into a large building and becomes very rich. Rich enough to provide for his mom for the rest of her life and to retire at 30 years of age and begin his ministry.

I do not see how that view could be proven by the Word of God, the Early Fathers or Church History.

I believe that these 3 sources show the opposite.

The Lord Jesus Christ said " The foxes have holes ,and the birds of the air have nests ; but the Son of man hath not where to lay his head."

"For ye know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ,that though he was rich ,yet for your sakes HE BECAME POOR,that ye through his POVERTY might be rich." II Corinthians 8:9

So I am assuming that you think Jesus was a failure as a carpenter...

...and shirked his responsibility to his Mom when he started in ministry?

He also teaches us about riches in that chapter.




I am certain that He was the best carpenter ever.


He loved the Theotokos the God bearer His Mother Mary.


He was God manifest in the flesh cf 1 Timothy 3:16.

For in Him dwelleth all the fullness of the Godhead bodily Colossians 2:9

The Prosperity teaching today might be getting extreme.

Some Preachers in Africa are going off the rails because of it.

Dad Hagin said the Lord wants to bless His people and prosper them.But warned that people can get in the ditch about it.And warned that they will be judged for it.

Where does it say in the Word that the Lord Jesus Christ was rich here on earth?


I gave two very clear verses on this that were IGNORED.

"When Jesus therefore saw his mother,and the disciple standing by whom he loved,he saith unto His mother ,Woman behold thy son!Then saith he to the disciple ,Behold thy mother!And from that hour that disciple took her unto his own home." John 19:26-27

If Jesus was rich as some speculate He would not have taken money from these women.

The late Reverend David Wilkerson openly blasted this Prosperity gospel.

He opposed it openly from his Pulpit in New York.

I was taught the Laws of Prosperity from my late great Pastor

Reverend Iverna Tompkins says that "BALANCE is the key to all good spiritual teaching."

If the teaching is unbalanced and extreme it is off center.




Any good teaching like Prosperity or Healing can be taught in extremes.

People have prayed for people and their kids and told them to throw away their insulin say.And the children died.

That is extreme.Or a Preacher tells his members not to take medicine or to see Doctors .

That is extreme.

I think you are right Pastor. He was the best.He did and does all things well.And i am sure he was paid for it.
