How was this years CBA? What is new? See anything exciting???

Is things shifting to online apps and such?

Well the new thing is the fact of how fast the world is changing and how that is effecting things. CBA was the lowest attendance I have ever seen. The building was the smallest and the number of vendors that were there was the smallest. It seems that the internet has taken the place of these type of shows.

Exciting? Well I really like the movie God's Not Dead. So for me this was my highlight:

Well now we understand why they didn't run you out, you had your lovely wife with you.

So give us the trip account, how was the show? What is happening in that part of the world of Christianity? See any thing exciting? See anything discouraging? Give us a birds eye view.

Well sadly you see more nick-nacks, pictures, tee shirts, music cds, church supplies than you see Bibles and books.
Then there are those that have a new book and come to the show thinking it will be their big chance to get their book out to the world, sadly it almost never happens.
Very few "stars" come now a days, Oh... Charles Stanley, Roberts Lairdon, Phil Robertson (Duck Dynasty) and Kay, and a few others where there - but years ago you would see almost a 100 name brand so to speak big wheels in the Christian community.
The show use to go all week long not it only goes for 2 and 1/2 days.
Had a long talk with Joyce Meyers Pastor, who is really into the healing move of 1948.
Lot of International people still come... Nigerians, Kenyons, Germans, etc...

OH - for you Ed. Accordance is now FULLY able to be run on the PC with no limitations.

I think the fact that most "Christian" publishing companies have now been sold to secular companies plays a huge role in what you are seeing Bibleman. The interest has changed from ministry to making a buck. They probably figure CBA doesn't give them the biggest bang for their buck so they move on.

The small companies that are trying to hang on to their ministry probably attend but as you noticed the number keeps getting smaller.

What a shame!!!!!!

I agree... what a shame.

What I'm finding "scary" is this is trickling down (or up) to pastors and it's showing up on our survey that involves sermon prep. I got "beat up" because the use of Dake by pastors minimal, but according to the reports of Bibleman, it's not just Dake, but solid Christian material in general.

I really think the INTERNET is the main component to declining CBA participation.

Because sales remain good - it is happening thorough the internet and over the phone.

The bookstore owners no longer have the need to visit with the publishers, see the new products, to get the best discounts,... etc.

They can do all of that over the internet now days.
