Noah's flood local?
Just curious was it possible that the flood of Genesis geographically only covered the Mesopotamian flood plain and not the whole earht? Now I am not saying I believe this, just wondering what others think about this..

Re: Noah's flood local?
G-Day mates. Were their giants in the land in Noahs day? Yes there were;
Gen. 6:4, "There were giants in the earth in those days; and also after that, when the sons of God came in unto the daughters of men, and they bare children to them, the same became mighty men which were of old, men of renown.
5, And GOD saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every1 imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually.
6, And it repented the LORD that he had made man on the earth, and it grieved him at his heart.
7, And the LORD said, I will destroy man whom I have created from the face of the earth; both man, and beast, and the creeping thing, and the fowls of the air; for it repenteth me that I have made them.
8, But Noah found grace in the eyes of the LORD.
Yes I believe it was world wide, firstly because of the giants, who God wanted to destroy as well as sinfull man. I believe the giants were spread over much of the wold. When reading of the giant structures discovered all over the world, Egypt, Mexico, South America Asia and other places, it stands to reason that God meant to wipe them all out where ever they existed. In some reading on the Astec's they had some giant ruling over them and that's why they offered him the human sacrifices, which he ate! The rock carvings I have seen picture of show a being 4 or 5 times larger than anyone around them.
I read that Noahs arc may have been discovered, not only on the web address I am posting, but on other web news stories, and they all point to Mount Ararat. Bible says the ark came to rest on a mountain. If that is so, and the mountain was in fact Mount Ararat, approximately 3500 meters high, that's about two miles high I think, then any water that covered the ground to this height would have at least covered most of the Earth even as we know it today.

A group of Chinese and Turkish evangelical explorers believe they may have found Noah's Ark about 4,000 metres up a mountain in Turkey.
The team say they recovered wooden specimens from a structure on Mount Ararat in eastern Turkey that carbon dating proved was 4,800 years old, around the same time the ark is said to have been afloat.
Yeung Wing-cheung, a member of the 15-strong team from Noah's Ark Ministries International, says the structure has several compartments, some with wooden beams, which were believed to house animals.
"It's not 100 per cent that it is Noah's Ark but we think it is 99.9 per cent that this is it," he told AFP.
The group has ruled out an established human settlement on the grounds that one had never been found above 3,500 metres in the vicinity.
Mr Yeung says local Turkish officials will ask the central government in Ankara to apply for UNESCO World Heritage status so the site can be protected while a major archaeological dig is conducted.
The biblical story says God decided to flood the earth after seeing how corrupt it had become, and told Noah to build an ark and fill it with two of every animal species.
After the flood waters receded, the Bible says the ark came to rest on a mountain.
Many believe that Mount Ararat, the highest point in the region, is where the ark and its inhabitants came aground.

In Gen.1:27-31; God created man and the animals and they both ate vegies, no meat.
We can see from the above verses and also Gen. 2:15-20; that man and the animal kingdom lived in perfect harmony, not afraid of each other.
As will be in the future Isa.11:6-9; 65:25;
After the fall Gen.3;15; we find the only enmity, or fear between man and the animal kingdom, was between man and snakes.
The whole period from Adam's creation and the flood was 1,656 years, and was characterised by this relationship between man and animal.
One can readily see "understand" why, and how, Noah could gather 2 and 7 of every living creature on the whole face of the earth.
For not only were the creatures friendly but the earth was not yet divided into continents. Gen.6:19-21; for 2 of.. and Gen.7:2-3; for 7 of.
But no fish as they survived the flood.
The earth was split in the days of Peleg, after the flood, Gen.11:16-19;
Peleg was born "14 years before the events of Gen.11:9;" 101 years after the flood, Gen.10:25; 1 cron.1;19;
After the flood Gen.9:1-4; we find the relationship between man and the animal kingdom has changed.
God put fear into the animals toward man.
God also turned animals into meat eaters, man was allowed to eat meat for the first time as well, this has not changed to this day 1 Tim. 4:1-4;
Hope this helps Rocky.

Thank you for the replies. They were really great. I am seeing a lot of website springing up trying to prove the the flood of genesis was not global, so I was curious to what other thought about this on here. I personally believe it was global
