Frederick K. C. Price on Prosperity:
  • ... what has happened is that a lot of Christians have made prosperity a thing for me, myself, and I - us three. They have made the prosperity message a way to get bigger houses, newer cars, more designer clothes, and a nice bank account. Many have forgotten about those in the world who don't know Jesus, and are lost and on their way to hell. (Price, The Purpose of Prosperity, Page 6)

I have heard Price brag on his Rolls Royce. He knows what to say but his actions speak far louder than his words.
He chases manna with the best of them.

  • "The poor consider this a rich man’s world. Satan has dominated them with poverty and suppression of all kinds. When you realize that Satan is behind their oppression, you will see their need for the power of God in their lives. Then you won’t be afraid to obligate them to the gospel when you give material things to them. Whenever I give in this way, I always explain what the Word says and tell them about Jesus. I let them know that Jesus is my source of supply and is willing to be theirs. Show them that they, too, can become God’s channel in the earth to someone else. You see, you can feed a thief all day long, but all you will have is a thief full of food. The food won’t change him, but the Word of God will transform him on the inside. If you give to the poor in the proper way, then you can witness to them and introduce them to the power of God. I never give to the poor without telling them about Jesus. If they are to get my material goods, they will first have to listen to what I have to say about Jesus. Jesus taught about giving alms, which is giving to the poor. Evidently, Jesus was well-known for giving to the poor from the scriptural accounts of His ministry. In the Sermon on the Mount, Jesus taught about giving alms. He said, “Let not thy left hand know what thy right hand doeth” (Matthew 6:3). You can get more fun out giving to someone anonymously! It is a joy you
will never get from anything else, and the next verse says, “And thy Father which seeth in secret himself shall reward thee openly.” HE HIMSELF shall reward you. Praise the Lord for His generous propositions!" (Copeland, Laws of Prosperity, pp. 75, 76)
And I say AMEN!!! Thank you Brother Copeland.
Oh come on! We both know he had to say that. How about he sells the house and feed 6.1 million do you think they would listen to him better on a full stomach?
Are you seriously going to defend his excessive lifestyle? Seriously. Excuse me while I chuckle.
Is there anything you won't say or defend just to try to prove me wrong? Man you are messed up. I know a person that can help you with that. His name is Jesus.
Ed,

When is your house going up on the market?

The poor could do a lot with the value of your house.

No where near what they could do with Copeland's and I'm not justifying my decadence by saying I am living large to give the poor something to shoot for.

Kenneth Hagin, Jr. on Prosperity:
  • For the last two years I've told our RHEMA students, "If you came here with ears itching to get faith so you can drive Cadillacs, fly airplanes, or have million-dollar homes, go home. Or else reach up, pull off those itching ears, and say, 'I'm here to receive what God has for me.' Pp. 17, 18 (Itching Ears, 1982)

Kenneth E. Hagin Sr. on Prosperity:

"There is an important balance to this subject of prosperity that people need to understand. God has promised to supply His children's every need. But that doesn't mean a person can sit around and do nothing and expect God to bring the money in supernaturally. That's not in line with the whole counsel of the Word." (Classic Sermons)

The answer to your question is simple...no, I do not believe he is living in excess, anymore than abraham or david lived in excess.

You are demanding that he sell his home...but you make excuses not to do the same. I think that is called something, if I can only remember what the word is...oh yeah!! I remember!! Hypocrite. Ed, are you a hypocrite?

first I am not demanding anything. I simply asked if Copeland was living in excess. You said no. So you believe two people need 18,000+ sq ft to live in. Okay please tell me what you consider to be excess is then. Make it good I'm waiting.

Why don't you answer my question?

Here's a great quote:

"It is possible, of course, to indicate many people – perhaps God's children – who are suffering from hunger and privation. How is it that their food is so scanty and inconstant? I reply, May there be some lack in their faith, and may it not be that they have not because they ask not, or because they do not exercise definite faith in God? God loves to give, not bread alone, but fish. 'They saw a fire... and fish laid thereon and bread' (John 21:9). Not necessaries only, but luxuries."
