Absolutely correct, Sir, on all points. ((( Jesus said to beware of he who can kill the soul- Satan. )))
Jesus was quite definite in what His Work was, as well as what we are to do.

Yes, there still are signs, wonders, and miracles, but as Justaned said, what is more eternal? Salvation changes one from death and darkness, to light and life eternal, in Christ Jesus. That is ETERNAL. THAT is the fruit of God's Love, Mercy, Grace, and Kindness. Having a one-to-one, personal relationship with God, The Father, The Son, and The Holy Spirit- THAT IS PRICELESS!!!

To those here on the board... Which would you rather have, healing, that fades away with age and the body's susceptibility to the vagaries of entropy, gravity, and the nature of this fallen world? Or, would you rather have a constant foretaste of Heaven, always cognizant of being in God's Wondrous Presence?

Not a negative confession, as some might say, but I do have some health "issues." They are a constant nag, if I let them. So, I don't. I know that God Loves me. I also know, beyond the shadow of a doubt, that His Presence in my life is sufficient for me. Period. Whether I stay, or whether I go, it's all His Will, for either way, I'm with Him...

Jehovah Jireh isn't just "a" name- He really is my provider. I lean on, and depend upon, Him. For everything. He has never failed me, left me, nor forsaken me. He is my all-in-all... I'm never alone, for He cares for me. He doesn't care if I sing slightly off-key, nor does He groan if I laugh at a dumb joke. He doesn't tell me, "Get lost, Kid, I got work to do..." Nope. He's the best friend, companion, mentor, and help, anyone could ever imagine- and He's more real to me, than whatever surrounds me... He is Eternal, Perfect, and Awesome...

I hope you all have the same relationship with Him, as I do... In a single word, for me, everything about Him is, Wonderful...

Have a great day in The Lord...

Watchman! Just where in the Bible do you get this statement from?????

The word of God states that only God can destroy the soul and spirit, not satan! Luke 12:4-5:

We are told never to fear man or satan, so what are you trying to do here??????

Do you and Ed fear satan? is that your problem? if it is you both need to be saved.

I don't know, I kind of disagree with that. I believe sometimes you can find spiritual guidance on here depending on who it is..
There is a saying, even a blind pig finds an acorn occasionally. What people fail to realize is along with advice there needs to be accountability.
If one has not accountability they can and often do say most anything, some say things for attention, others says things to look pious or righteous, some say things because the don't know any better, and some say things to destroy or injure.
Some say things in an attempt to be helpful but without realizing it they actually have thrown gas on the situation. Anyone that offers advice other than, "go find a Godly person to talk to", without knowing the full story is a bigger fool than the person looking for sound Godly advice without telling the full story.

In today's world where most anything you say can and often is used against you, you have to be real careful what you say to begin with. It the case of a divorce if someone is too transparent while seeking advice they may find their words being used against them in later in court. Yet how can we expect sound Godly advice unless we are transparent and forthwith in what part we played in the situation.

Far too many on this forum do not attend church, have no pastor and have no one person they can go to for Godly advice. That is wrong. Scripture tells us we are to come together to exhort, encourage and edify each other. If we aren't doing that we aren't living a Christian life. Anyone looking for advice on a forum rather than talking to their pastor is wolf bait. They are ranging outside the safety of the flock and shepherd and unless they already lost they soon will be attacked by the adversary.

I assure you I do not fear Satan but I also do not rail against Satan or pretend to have authority over him.
Jesus has the authority and as long as I fear and revere Jesus Christ the living Son of God I do not have to fear anyone else.
Jude 1:8-11 (NASB)
8 Yet in the same way these men, also by dreaming, defile the flesh, and reject authority, and revile angelic majesties.
9 But Michael the archangel, when he disputed with the devil and argued about the body of Moses, did not dare pronounce against him a railing judgment, but said, "The Lord rebuke you!"
10 But these men revile the things which they do not understand; and the things which they know by instinct, like unreasoning animals, by these things they are destroyed.
11 Woe to them! For they have gone the way of Cain, and for pay they have rushed headlong into the error of Balaam, and perished in the rebellion of Korah.

2 Peter 2:10-16 (NASB)
10 and especially those who indulge the flesh in its corrupt desires and despise authority. Daring, self-willed, they do not tremble when they revile angelic majesties,
11 whereas angels who are greater in might and power do not bring a reviling judgment against them before the Lord.
12 But these, like unreasoning animals, born as creatures of instinct to be captured and killed, reviling where they have no knowledge, will in the destruction of those creatures also be destroyed,
13 suffering wrong as the wages of doing wrong. They count it a pleasure to revel in the daytime. They are stains and blemishes, reveling in their deceptions, as they carouse with you,
14 having eyes full of adultery that never cease from sin, enticing unstable souls, having a heart trained in greed, accursed children;
15 forsaking the right way, they have gone astray, having followed the way of Balaam, the son of Beor, who loved the wages of unrighteousness;
16 but he received a rebuke for his own transgression, for a mute donkey, speaking with a voice of a man, restrained the madness of the prophet.

Billy I'm not Watchman2013 nor do I have his permission to speak for him. But in his defense I believe he has already reported the problem that he can't read PM's about 2 or 3 weeks ago. Also your posts show up much later than when you post them. And when they do show up they are often buried in the thread and overlooked. Example a thread is opened at 1:00 pm you post a comment at 1:05 pm then 5 people post comments from 1:15 to 3:30 PM then your post shows up. But it is located right after initial post showing a time of 1:05 and before the 5 other posts. Now if someone is following the thread and they last looked at the thread at 2:30PM and then go in and starts reading from that time forward they will never see your post back at 1:05 even though it didn't post until after 3:30PM. Also when your posts hit the thread it never turns on the new post flag. I often look at the board and notice you have a post that I haven't read yet but you post does not turn on the new flag and make the title of the thread appear in red. Bibleman needs to fix both you and Watchman2013 you why your posts are delayed and Watchman2013 why he can't read PM's

Is it possible, Sir, that you have misread, misunderstood, or not properly appreciated what Justaned had to say? Is not vilification, "stabbing in the back," contrary The Word, The Will, The Intents, and The Purposes, of Almighty God? I've yet to see Justaned so treat you, Sir. Why is it that you so attack him?

I see no evidence here, of anyone trying to be civil, to offer one's Brother in Christ, the proper respect due to all here... Where differences may exist, comity and good manners should be abundantly visible to all...

Please remember that words have power, and they can be either for good, or ill...

To Miscreants: I'll either read The Word of God to 'em, or read The Word of God over 'em- their choice.

I live by these, Sir. In the past, people have tried to kill me. I'm still here. It would be nice to see mutual respect for one another, as befits Our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, whom we are privileged to serve, In Spirit and Truth!

Hi Watchman2013,

Where did I ever say Justaned was a liar? I did not.

Read my post again before you make such a statement.

That is if you can find the time. For a person who claims to have read 40,000 books (that is at least a 1 and 1/3 books a day since birth! http://www.dakebibleboard.com/viewtopic ... 884#p73884 ) you may not have the time however.

Bibleman,

Your post says,

"bibleman wrote:Wow ED!

You just saw the WORD:

Luke 10:17 Then the seventy returned with joy, saying, "Lord, even the demons are subject to us in Your name."

and then you still said: "We can't command Satan, Satan does not have to respond to us. We have no Authority over him at all."

That seems to be both the height of doubt and unbelief and also an indictment from you that Jesus is a liar!

Tell me, believing as you do, in a lying and powerless God with a Devil that you can do nothing about... have you ever considered just crawling under a rock and dying?
"

You accuse Justaned of believing in a "lying and powerless God with a devil that you can do nothing about." Following that, you ask, "have you ever considered just crawling under a rock and dying?"

Your words, Bibleman.

Now as to killing the soul, there I did make an error. When I err, I'm quick to admit it, and not deny, or hide from it. The verse I was in error with, was as follows:

Matthew 10:28 (AMP)
28 And do not be afraid of those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul; but rather be afraid of Him who can destroy both soul and body in hell (Gehenna).

My fault entirely.

Now, as to how many books I've read, I was conservative in number. You can believe or not, your choice. Everything else I've written, I stand behind. You will notice that neither I, nor Justaned heap calumny upon anyone- regardless of the attacks. Hmmmmmmm. Must be a lesson there, don't you think?

Maranatha

Watchman2013

PS, I still am not getting PMs or emails. When I can, I respond. In the open, as with Branham1965, in the open. The purpose of PMs, is the "Personal" aspect. To respond, in private, to those that send the PMs...

"Confess with your mouth, that 'Jesus is Lord,' believing in your heart that God raised Him from the Dead, and you will be saved, for with the heart, man believes and is justified, and with his profession of faith, he is saved." Romans 10:9-10.

My answer? Why can't I have both? Afterall, the Bible says ALL the promises in Him are Yes and So Be It.

So my answer is, I have both.

Why is that you and Ed both post on here about Dake's writings and how great they are, but yet, disagree with so, so, so much of what he wrote? The both of you in this very thread are going on about how we do not have victory or authority over the enemy. Yet, Dake wrote exactly opposite of what you are stating. I wonder why Ed is even on this forum, as he disagrees with EVERYTHING anyone puts up that Dake wrote. You seem to jump in and agree with everything Ed writes...

I don't get how 2 ppl can say they love someone's writings (well, granted, Ed has not stated as much, but he has stated before that he is the only person who really understood what Dake really meant by what he wrote), but yet, disagree with nearly everything written by the man. It baffles my mind, it honestly, truly does.

And for a self-proclaimed minister to say that we do not have victory, that we only have "hope" of victory, and that we do not have authority over the enemy? I really do not want to go any further into that discussion other than to say he needs to step down from his office.

Now, I like some of your stuff you write, Watchman (I like absolutely zero of anything Ed writes, though...if he wrote it, I am most likely in disagreement with it in some way). I honestly don't think the two of you are really on the same page...but for some reason, the both of you seem to read past each other and pick up on the little nits to pick, especially when it comes to your hated Copeland and "members of this board"...

Watchman, I suggest you really read what Ed is saying. Because it never lines up with what Dake wrote, and it really never lines up with the truth of Scripture...

no offence to my buddy Chris :agrue:

but i think that REVED and Watchman 2013 have a right to express their opinions based on their learned views of God's Word.

we should be able to express ourselves.or this becomes like a Watchtower robot study.

Reverend Dake in his note on Jude 8,9ff he expresses quite clearly we should not badmouth the devil!!!
Jude says the Archangel St.Michael Himself did not do that.
Saint Michael said the LORD meaning JEHOVAH( or YAWEH) ie God the Father rebuke thee ...to Satan.see Zeph 3 also.

Paul said to the Churches he loved so much....SATAN HINDERED US FROM COMING TO YOU.
he had a thorn of some kind.yet it was not removed from him.sounds like the adversary is very alive and well on earth.

to the Roman Church he said "THE GOD OF PEACE SHALL BRUISE SATAN UNDER YOUR FEET SHORTLY." ROMANS 16:20

NOW THAT IS AFTER CALVARY THE RESURRECTION AND THE ASCENDING OF OUR LORD INTO HEAVEN TO BE THE GREAT HIGH PRIEST AFTER THE ORDER OF MELCHIZEDEK.cf Hebrews.

Eph 6:10ff;1 Peter 5:8;James 4;7.
the battle is not over until .....see 2 Timothy 4:6-8
