But the catholic church does not have as its defining doctrine, the truth of Jesus Christ.

Where in Scripture does it say Mary is co-redemptrix?

Where in Scripture dies it say pray the repetitious rosary?

Where in Scripture dies it say babies must be baptized or they will not enter heaven should they die?

Where in Scripture dies it say worship statues of popes, Mary, dead saints, and tell a man your sins?

Where in Scripture dies it say the Pope is actually Jesus Christ on Earth?

Where in Scripture dies it say unless your in the Catholic Church and give honour and aligience to the Pope you will never enter Heaven?

Where in Scripture dies it say one must call a priest Father?

Where in Scripture dies it say we may call the Pope, "Holy Father," a name reserved for God the Father alone? The name Jesus called His Father in Heaven one time in Scripture?

John 17:11, And now I am no more in the world, but these are in the world, and I come to thee. HOLY FATHER, keep through thine own name those whom thou hast given me, that they may be one, as we are.

The list is nearly endless!
Where in scripture does it say only do the things written in scripture? It doesn't. In fact Jesus charged the disciples to go make disciples teaching all that He had taught them. John said if everything Jesus did was recorded there wouldn't be enough books to contain it. So perhaps some of these things were taught by the disciples to the disciples they were teaching and those teachings got passed down. Or do you know for a fact that is not the case?

What you just said is catholic propaganda, I hear just every catholic say that almost verbatim when you show them a lot of their beliefs are not in the bible. Matter of fact, you are taught to say this when dealing with protestants, But usually they say it when you point out to them praying to Mary, the patron saint theology, and a lot of other beliefs that they feel is so important that not one writer in the new testament even mentions. So to which of the catholic beliefs are you defining by using a tactical catholic statement?

Interesting I never heard it before. I have searched the bible extensively and have never found even a remote hint of Sola Scriptura. However I have found many admonishments to verbally teach. One even came from Jesus Himself.
Interesting to learn the Catholic use the same reasoning.

Too late Rocky, he's already duped!

He said here;
"Where in scripture does it say only do the things written in scripture? It doesn't. In fact Jesus charged the disciples to go make disciples teaching all that He had taught them. John said if everything Jesus did was recorded there wouldn't be enough books to contain it. .

Where in scripture does it say only do the things written in scripture?

Start here Ed;

1Peter 4:17, For the time is come that judgment must begin at the house of God: and if it first begin at us, what shall the end be of them that obey not the gospel of God?

2Thess. 3:14, And if any man obey not our word by this epistle, note that man, and have no company with him, that he may be ashamed.

Heb. 4:12, For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any two edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.

For example, the Bible is the Word of God and the Catholic church teaches we must call the local priest FATHER, I was told by the local priest, "Call me Father," this goes against the word of God! [Matt. 23:9, And call no man your father upon the earth: for one is your Father, which is in heaven].

2Cor. 2:17, For we are not as many, which corrupt the word of God: but as of sincerity, but as of God, in the sight of God speak we in Christ.

Galatians 4: 16, Am I therefore become your enemy, because I tell you the truth?

You complain that I never read your posts, well show me where I said or implied that I agreed with or suggested that I agree with any Catholic doctrine. There are some I do agree with but I have not identified them at all and I won't.
I do not hold to sola scriptura but that is not Catholic Doctrine. To me Sola Scriptura originated with the Reformation for approx. 1600 years it was never considered.
Also in light of Jesus' clear admonishment where Jesus told the disciples to make disciples teaching them what Jesus had taught them.

Hi Rocky.

I think you might be wrong on this?
"So tell me Ed what do you believe that is not in the bible? How about unicorn poo being purple?"
.

I thought the One eyed, One horned, Flying Purple People Eaters poo was purple, not unicorns? Unicorn poo tastes like honey, doesn't smell and its pink! My back paddock is full of it, they come round here at night to play with my wombats.

Where do I get this information from?
Well for a start, I'm taking by prescription, Dr. Jeramiah Poobodies, who hangs around my back paddock a lot, especially at night's, totally unsaturated, quick dissolving, fast acting, pleasant tasting, PINK and PURPLE PILLS! Oh Yeah! They is so goooood. I wonder what they are made of?
