What is the Christian life?

Post by Justaned »

I the Christian life one of temptation, sinning and repentance?
Or is it a life of hope of peace and freedom from desire of sin?

Did Jesus die on the cross so we would get saved, sin, repent, be saved, sin repent, be saved, sin, repent, be saved?
Of did he pay for our sins once and for all, that we would be free from sin, that we could live a life not fighting the temptations in it but instead as conquers that live free of sin?

Where is my security of I have to worry about losing my salvation, because I wasn't able to resist the temptation of sin and committed willful and deliberate sin.

Better question would a person who claims they love God commit sin?

Wouldn't that be like claiming you love your spouse but cheat on them?

The person that says they love their spouse and then cheats on them doesn't love them as must as they love the lust of their flesh. And God said He must be our first love not right after the lust of the flesh, lust of the eye or pride of life.

What is a Christian's life to be? Is it to be the constant fight against sin? Is it to be the constant roller coaster of sin, repent, sin, repent? Or is it to be more?

Hi Ed,

Well does a Christian "that says they love their spouse and then cheats on them"...

Is that person still saved or not?

Real Christians do not say they love their spouse and then cheat on them. I know many "so called Christians" do that but they have bigger problems than cheating on their wives. Don't you think?

Okay Billy What is so idiotic about it?
Do you believe all Christians do is fight temptation?
Do you not believe a Christian can have victory of temptation?
What does scripture say if we draw close to God will happen?
Billy I love you but living a Christian life serving God is not idiotic and it is not one where the person must fight temptation continually.
Talk to your pastor Billy ask him how he lives.

How did you get from there to Christians never sin?

What are you saying that is normal behavior for Christians? Surely not.

And that does not say Christians never sin. Only they don't intentionally willfully sin. Or do you think they do?

Tell me you, Rocky and some others seem to think Christians willfully and intentionally sin and I don't understand that, so tell me how you think that is possible. Do you personally sit around and willfully and intentionally sin? If not then why do you think that is normal behavior of the Christian?

So are you saying that the spouse cheated on their spouse by mistake! It was an accident?
