The fault in Bible complications is not with God or the Bible, but with men who refuse to believe what God says and think we have to interpret what He says in order to get the meaning. Dake Bible -Mark 11:17 note

Re: On which day was the Earth created?
i think it was in Genesis 1:1.that was the original creation.the dateless past.
the great restoration of creation occurred in verse 2 after Lucifer's fall.
so the earth was already created before the restoration of the six days.would that be correct Pastor???

You mean to tell me that ALL of this already existed BEFORE Genesis 1:3?
Before the 6 Days of Genesis?

Before the 6 Days of Genesis?

i reckon so.
on my GPFM mp3's Reverend Dake said our youth would have a firm foundation to stand on if they were taught about the preadamite world.

Re: On which day was the Earth created?
In 1984 about two months after I gave my life to Christ I was in the bookstore looking for Christian music when I found a book by some guy named Benny Hinn titled "War in the Heavenlies". I bought the book and it answered almost every question I had in only a few short pages about the reason for evil, the fall of Satan, why Jesus had to die. He explained it by referencing the gap between Genesis 1:1 and 1:2. I have been a "gap" man ever since and have never been swayed from it (even when I sat for years under a Word-Faith pastor who refused to accept that belief and felt that I only believed it because someone else taught it to me).
Four years later I got a book by Watchman Nee titled "The Mystery of Creation" which gave me more insight. He made reference to a guy named "G. H. Pember" and his book titled "Earth's Earliest Ages" which I bought some months later and found to be of tremedous help. Finally, in 1991 I was sent a catalogue with Charismatic books and among them were books by a guy whose name I heard a few times in passing named Finis Dake. I had heard people talk about his Refrence Bible but never thought too much of it. However, the material looked interesting and I bought a few of his books. One of the first things that grabbed me when I received GPFM was the depth he went into concerning the gap between Genesis 1:1 and 1:2. Although I can't say that I ever swayed from my belief in the gap but Dake help to ensure that it was a fully Biblical teaching.
The gap explains much. The YEC and the s0-called Christian evolution beliefs leave too many questions for comfort.

Re: On which day was the Earth created?
Hi Bibleman
I stopped at my journey to Dake, but should have mentioned that I have bought numerous GAP books over the years since then (most in the 2000s when I became more active on the internet and saw that the gap teaching was under severe attack), Langford's book is among the many books I have bought and read (well, I have read a lot of it though I can't honestly say I read from cover to cover like I have done with other books). I have read much of Custance's book online and reference it in my own teaching notes on the subject.

Re: On which day was the Earth created?
On which day was the Earth created?
My simple understanding of which day the Earth was created.
A specific day, ie, day one two, three, / Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, etc, is also not mentioned or named, but God does tell us when the Earth, in fact when He began planning and creating everything. The answer lies here, IN THE BEGINNING, in Gen. 1:1, "In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth." I believe it was not 6000 years ago, or billions even trillions of millennia times many trillions more ago, I believe God has been working / creating, FOREVER!
But that's not all! We know, because he tells us that He has been around forever! He is an eternal being, no beginning no end.
(Rev 1:8, I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, saith the Lord, which is, and which was, and which is to come, the Almighty).
Jesus tells us that He works and that His Father works;
"John 5:17, " But Jesus answered them, My Father worketh hitherto, and I work".
Jesus also tells us that He and His Father have been working / creating forever in these three scriptures;
John 1:1, "IN THE BEGINNING was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
John 1:2, The same was IN THE BEGINNING with God"
John 1:3, All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.
And so its by these simple scriptures we know God and the Word have been working / creating since forever past, and they will continue to work forever.
Isa 40:28, Hast thou not known? hast thou not heard, that the everlasting God, the LORD, the Creator of the ends of the earth, fainteth not, neither is weary? there is no searching of his understanding.
No where in the entire Bible does any scripture say, 6000 years ago God created the heaven and the Earth? It clearly states, "IN THE BEGINNING." I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, IN THE BEGINNING was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was IN THE BEGINNING with God" All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made, because, Jesus tells us; "My Father worketh hitherto, and I work". And they are not about to retire any millennium soon?
