Show me where I misunderstood scripture
And stop doing this
"Marx and Engels never tried to refute their opponents with argument. They insulted, ridiculed, derided, slandered, and traduced them, and in the use of these methods their followers are not less expert. Their polemic is directed never against the argument of the opponent, but always against his person."

Re: Did Peter lose his salvation?
Judas was lost. It is written that his name was removed from the book of life. Before Christ died, Peter was saved by faith just as Abraham, David, Moses, and all other OT believers. Peter never died before Jesus died on the cross so Peter was saved as we are, by Jesus's death and resurrection!Justaned wrote:Ironman wrote:Keeping it simple.
When Peter denied Christ while cursing, as Jesus predicted He would deny Him, he was lost. Peter went away and wept bitterly, repented and was restored/saved again.
Judas betrayed Christ as Jesus predicted he would and as it was written. Sadly Judas brooded over his sin and committed suicide and his name was removed from the book of life. There is no mention in Scripture of Peter being removed from the book! I'm saying Peter was a saved man!
I know Peters denial but I don't see Peter's salvation. Sin requires payment (death). In the Old Testament sin was atonted for by sacrifice, death of the animal. In the New Testament is paid for once and for all by an eternal sacrifice Jesus Christ and His death on the cross so how was Peter's salvation paid for before the cross? Peter always expressed faith and doubt so I don't see him saved I see him as a disciple of Christ that needed Jesus to go to the cross to pay his debt.
Even more so with Judas. Jesus knew from the beginning Judas was of Satan. Judas did as many do each Sunday play act at being Christians but they really aren't saved.

Again is that not an assumption on your part? I'm unaware of any scripture that claims Peter was saved before his betrayal of Jesus. If you have one I would like to see it.

Mate, unless I'm mistaken, I don't think there is specific Scriptures which says Moses, and many other OT believers were save either, yet we know they were, by faith???Justaned wrote:Ironman wrote:Judas was lost. Re: Did Peter lose his salvation?
So you believe that Peter was clean but not saved?Justaned wrote:Reuben wrote:I was only giving you Scripture... I'm not saying anything. The Bible says he was clean. What else is there to say. You want me to give opinion but I am only giving Scripture. Peter was either clean or he wasn't. Will you believe the Scripture or not?
I believe Peter was clean just a scripture says. But salvation requires a payment for the sin, and since scripture never says Peter was saved I don't believe that Peter was saved. Do you?

Re: Did Peter lose his salvation?
The word "clean" is the same word used for pure in the following.
Matthew 5:8 (KJV)
8 Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God.
By the evidence of Scripture then Peter would see God which requires salvation.

Re: Did Peter lose his salvation?
So purity of heart is an alternate to salvation? How many ways is there to God? Jesus said He was the door and we must pass through Him. I always believed that required his crucifixion and our belief in Jesus as the Son of God that provided the only path to salvationReuben wrote:The word "clean" is the same word used for pure in the following.

Be that as it may
You are now saying you know Peter also lost that salvation. Even though God said no man knows the heart of man.
But you do.
And that he got back again God says no man knows the heart of man.
Then you also say the Hebrews 6 and Hebrews 10 is wrong that it is talking of something far more complicated than just being saved and losing your salvation.
And you will ignore 1 John 3:9 Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God.
So you have 4 witnesses against you but you say I'm warping scripture or ignoring scripture to make my point.

Re: Did Peter lose his salvation?
Purity of heart is the product of salvation - would you agree? Can you have purity of heart without salvation?Justaned wrote:So purity of heart is an alternate to salvation? You said you believe that Peter had a clean/pure heart but without being saved. I can't see how that is possible.
