Is Jimmy Swaggart, or any other huckster or false teacher or false prophet, saved? The Precious Holy Bible does not say so, as regards the teaching found in 1 Corinthians 6:9-10, but the "out," is found in 1 Corinthians 6:11. The line that such creatures walk, is so tenuous, so ephemeral, that one should not even contemplate such a course of action... No man knows the day, hour, or moment of impending death. Once that point is reached, it's too late. Game over.

Dangerous, is the practice of mocking God- The Father, The Son, or The Holy Spirit. That is what hucksters, false teachers, and false prophets do... To that list, one must not forget corrupt preachers and pastors, for they too, lead many astray, and pray upon the weak and unsuspecting...

No, my Brothers and Sisters in The Lord, Jesus Christ, by Whom we were purchased with a precious price, cannot, will not, abide by such as these...

What is a qualifier for being a bishop according to 1 Tim 3:2 and Titus 1:6? Does a man that was caught in sexual immorality that repents and then is caught again really qualify?

But a better question is with so many people that do qualify why would anyone want to listen to a mans such as this. Because he has good stories, he is entertaining, he can stir you up emotionally, because he shouts and spits? Why listen to a man that has proven to have fallen when so many that are without reproach are never listened to?

How do you know God has even forgiven him? How do you know he even asked God for forgiveness. Why play with fire when there are those that do have the qualifications?

Your position simply doesn't make any sense unless you admit all you care about is the delivery and not the integrity and holiness of the person making the delivery.

The prodical son is not swaggart Ed.
i was not clear enough i think?
that son was the father's son before he left and the father said " luke. 15:24; for this MY SON WAS DEAD AND IS ALIVE AGAIN; HE WAS LOST AND WAS FOUND."
That statement does not agree with you belief that he was not saved in the first place, does it not Ed?

Prodigal son was a parable of relationship a relationship that never changes. The son left his dad and went on his own much like us. We (our parents Adam and Eve) once walked in the garden with God then they left and through Jesus they returned. Do not try to apply it to Christian Apostasy or being save then sinning then being saved. This is a story of man kind not just the Christian experience.

Can he be saved? Yes if he repents and gets saved. Does he have the good reputation that scripture says is necessary to be a Bishop of the church? No.

I fail to understand why the church is so willing to be lead or taught by people with questionable morals, when there are so many that haven't fallen into sin that are willing to lead and teach. Is it spirituality or celebrity worship?

Let the man live as he will and ignore him there are thousands of others that are better qualified to be listened to.
Hi Ed,

Above you said: "Does anyone really care what Swaggart says or does? The man has been openly displayed to be up to his neck in sin.
Can he be saved? Yes if he repents and gets saved."

But Ed you said that the only way a man could lose his salvation was to apostatize... then you said that that person can NOT be saved again.

So how did Swaggart loose his salvation?

What sin in particular did he commit that caused him to lose his salvation?

I'm made to think of something I heard that was attributed to Dad Hagin. He apparently early on made light of a minister who most knew had sinned and did so in a meeting. He said The Lord spoke to him and said why are you judging someone I have forgiven. Dad Hagin said he never did that again. Forgiveness is the Lords as well as judgement. We should not loose sight of that. Words we use can be a stumbling block for someone and we will stand in judgement before The Lord for those idle words of judgement.

Wait I'm not judging anyone's salvation. I'm judging his reputation. If the person is shown to be liar should we automatically believe him because he claims to have reconciled himself to God? We are admonished to be as wise as serpents and harmless as doves. Okay. Wisdom says when person lies, claims to have repented and then is proven to have lied again their credibility is gone. Is it not?

Now he may have since reconciled with God but sin carries consequences in this case he has been a proven liar, are we expected to believe him now? If so why worry about reputation at all? Let us just buy into everything everone tells us and try to claim we are not stupid.
