The Power of Prayer and Confession

Post by branham1965 »

NASB 1971 In Mark 11:22-24 Jesus said "And Jesus answered saying unto them have faith in God.23 Truly I say unto you whoever says to this mountain be taken up and cast in the sea and does not doubt in his heart but believes that what he says is going to happen it shall be granted him.
24Therefore I say unto you all things for which you pray and ask believe that you have recieved them and they shall be granted you.
25 And when you stand praying forgive if you have anything against anyone so that your Fatheralso who is in heaven may forgive you your trespasses.

This is irrefutable proof of the power of prayer and confession of faith in God.

James 5:16 Therefore confess your sins to one another and pray for one another so that you may be healed. The effective prayer of a righteous man can accomplish much.

I more than any here ..... have alot to apologize for.
i apologize to you ALL.
Especially Chris, Pastor Bible, dolph and Pastor Victory Word.
i dont take it lightly ......and if i was going to DIE IN 5 MINUTES ID POST THIS.

Finally im sorry Reverend Scott with all my heart and soul.I love so very very much.

Frankly I don't have the faith to move mountains, but praise God, God does have that much faith and God has moved many mountains in my life. Therefore instead of trying to move mountains I have learned to trust in God.

Works great for me!

Matter of fact God knows what mountains need to be moved long before I do.

Your apology is excellent!
Don't forget the other part of this quote of james to pray for each of us.
Pray that our hearts will be changed in each of us. That we will be slow to fury and quick to mediate on the word of God. Pray that the Holy Spirit fills us to overflowing and that the truth of God will be found in each of us. Pray also that we be quick to forgive and even quicker to realize we need forgiveness ourselves. Pray we have compassion and understanding that our steps are ordered of the Lord all the days of our lives.

Thanks for the reminder Billy

Great, but that's not what the verses are teaching, are they.

Jesus isn't talking about God's faith.
Jesus is talking about our faith.

Jesus isn't saying "stop trying to move mountains and learn to trust in God".
Jesus is saying "learn to trust in God and you will move mountains".

So let's not sprinkle a challenge to believe with unbelief and thereby diminish the punch of the original words Jesus used.

Until you have moved a mountain I think I will stick with my understanding.
I can do nothing, Jesus is the mountain mover in my life.

Oh, sorry - I thought you were the guy who was big on "Not an abberrant God showed me this doesn't mean that but really means this type of reading of God's word". I was just pointing out that what Jesus said isn't what you said.

But hey, if you prefer the aberrant "this doesn't mean that but really means this", go for it.

Brother Branham in his marvelous Healing lines would always tell the people have faith in God.Be reverent please he would say.

IF he was not told by God he would say sister/brother according to your faith....only believe.

that lovely hymn was written for William Branham.

Hi Billy,

The song could not have been written for William Branham.

The song was written by Paul Rader somewhere between 1919 and 1921. It was first published in 1921.

Brother Branham was born on 4/6/1909 so he would have only been about 10 years when the song was first written.

God bless

The fault in Bible complications is not with God or the Bible, but with men who refuse to believe what God says and think we have to interpret what He says in order to get the meaning. Dake Bible -Mark 11:17 note

Again have you moved a mountain? Has anyone in the 2000+ years since Christ moved a mountain?
You may have missed my point and I yours.

Let me restate my position and see if is so aberrant as you call it.

Jesus isn't talking about our faith moving a mountain but rather our faith in God to move the mountain of our life. I don't try to move mountains I try to keep my faith and trust in God move the mountains in my life.
