If you really believe you can talk someone into dying then you have to believe in VOODOO. That is what you are taking about. Using your words, your faith to keep people alive or have them die. No where in scripture is that remotely suggestted. Yes it says the power of life and death is in the tongue but it isn't suggesting VOODOOism.
So, for someone who has claimed to respect the writings of Dake, would you accuse HIM of voodoo as well? After all, Dake also believed in talking people out of dying and into living. I do not have time to type it all up but if you have his book, "Bible Truths Unmasked" you can read, "Chapter Fourteen: How to Get Healed". In step 2: Have Faith in God for Healing, Dake talks to a paralyzed man about his WORDS OF UNBELIEF. He then takes him to Mark 11:22-24 (Gasp! Kenneth Hagin? Head for the hills!!!) and the man began speaking words of faith and was healed from his paralysis.

You guys can be as anti-wof as you want but I wish you all would stop claiming to have read Dake and make it appear that he would be anti-wof as well. It insults the average intelligence of anyone who has actually read Dake's writings.

I said the idea of talking people into and out of dying is central to voodooism.
That is different that Faith or believing in God to heal you. If you don't know the difference which it appears you don't. I would suggest you study instead of making wild claims here.

Ed, I think you just make this stuff up as you go along, don't you. Like your hero, MacArthur, you don't base any of your "distinctions" on Biblical revelation but on the intent to find an intellectual way to mischaracterize others.

Face it Ed, Dake would never support YOU or any of the other folks on this forum criticizing faith teachers. You and others who claim to respect Dake are so far and removed from his teachings that I find it a joke and laughable every time you make the claim that you anti-wofers respect his teachings. You do with Dake's writings exactly what you do with the Bible: you infer that something is there that isn't. Dake would not support your crusade because anyone who read his writings (including most heresy hunters - see their anti-dake pages) knows that his teachings were closer to WoF than anything you anti-wof folks vomit out on this forum.

Personally, I expect to be raptured. My second choice would be for my heart to stop while dreaming of Heaven in my sleep. To each his own!
read any death certificates lately? At one time that was the case but if you check now you will find most assign a cause.
In most cases if the person wasn't under direct doctors care and they die an autopsy must be performed to find cause of death. Very few if any death certificates say didn't find a thing.

You have such a nice way of explaining you disagreement. Makes one want to follow in your foot steps.

You don't really know what Dake would support, since Dake's days things in the church world have basically turned upside down. So making blanket statements using a dead man to justify your position is nonsense.

In the earliest days of the movement Dake may have supportted it but when they got to voodoo part (talking things into and out existence) I think Dake would have parted ways.

The ways of Satan are many, voo-doo dolls, witch craft, and down under, Bone Pointing!

The is an Aboriginal tribe in Australia, the Arunta Tribe. They have a ceremony of bone pointing which is a common ritual for bringing fear then sickness and death among their enemies including all other Australian Aboriginal tribes.

The pointing bone or pointing stick is usually about nine inches in length, pointed at one end, and tipped with a lump of resin at the other. The stick is endowed with magical power by being 'sung over,' that is, curses are muttered over it, such as 'may your heart be rent asunder' and 'may your head and throat be split open.' On the evening of the day on which the bone has been 'sung' the wizard creeps stealthily in the shadows until he can see the victim's face clearly by the firelight. He then points the bone in the victim's direction and utters in a low tone the curses with which the stick was endowed earlier in the day. The victim is supposed to sicken and die within a month at the most. Two men may cooperate in the pointing operation. Spears may also be endowed with magic by 'singing' over them. A person who knows that he has been injured, even slightly, with a spear thus prepared will be likely to waste away through fear unless counter magic can be brought to his aid.

Shown below are two Australian Arunta men pointing the bone at someone.
