I would say that a 71 year old woman who takes no prescriptions and is not sick and has no sickness or disease is worth listening to... when she is in agreement with the Word of God!

Some of you guys who claim to love the teachings of Dake really make me wonder if you have actually read them. This disdain for faith teachers exhibited here and this Calvinistic sounding talk is nothing like what I have ever read in any of Dake's books, and I have read most of them (with the exception that I have not read all of the notes in the study Bible). It would appear to me that the man who I am told spoke at Marilyn Hickey's church and was friends with Lester Sumrall would not have the same problems with Gloria Copeland as some of the folks who post on this forum.

To me Word-Faith is simply teaching the classic Pentecostal message that most of you modern day Pentecostals have forsaken for a shallow acceptance within mainstream evangelical Christianity.

I certainly do not have a problem with faith teachers! What I have a problem with is faith teachers that have fallen for the metaphysical teaching that is known as W... O. F..... (promised not to say the name)

If you don't know the difference than I would suggest you take the time to study the subject instead of chasing around after people that claim to be talking for God.

Earlier in the thread, Ed and Watchman were saying that Gloria was wrong for scheduling healing school meetings...because she would be commanding God to do something. My question, though, was who are they to say that God wasn't the one who had her schedule it...I mean, afterall...they both believe God is in control of everything, right? And God can do whatever He wants, right? Unless this is the one thing that God simply cannot do, now...schedule a meeting to teach and train.

And in response, I was told I did not need to get so nasty (by Ed) and then told to repent and ask for forgiveness, and to return to God (by Watchman)...but neither really answered the question. I mean, I guess Ed sorta-kinda did (he said it was his opinion), but Watchman simply began to lecture me on the evils of the doctrines of man (read that as Kenneth Copeland and all that are associated with him is evil, always have been evil, and always will be evil).

Typical anti-WoF stuff that always seems to happen whenever anything good is posted about anyone in the WoF movement....

Let us tell the truth I did not say Gloria Copeland was wrong about anything.
I asked her qualifications for making the statement she did. That is it.

I said I have a problem with people scheduling the Holy Ghost to show up at healing meetings. I don't know that Gloria Copeland ever did that.

So don't put your words into my mouth.

When it comes to Christian Science I'm an expert having grown up in a C.S. family that includes my brother who is still steeped in the cult that turns everything in the Bible upside down. They believe in many of the promises of the scriptures like Mark 11:24, but deny the deity of Christ and have more in common with Hinduism than Christianity. How do they get their miracles like my aunt who was healed from her death bed? If Satin can put sickness on you, he can also take it off in support of a anti-Christ religion. Or, perhaps they have more faith in the healing scriptures of the Bible than most Christians have?!

If some folks here believe they will die some day from a disease, I'm sure God will honor their faith.

You don't have to espouse all of christian science to grasp one of it's lies.

Disease is what kills the human body. We just don't die.

Do you have a certain disease that you would like to die of so that we can be specific in our prayers?

How about a time? Would you like to die of a long drawn out disease or die in a few weeks of a undiscovered disease?

If you really believe you can talk someone into dying then you have to believe in VOODOO. That is what you are taking about. Using your words, your faith to keep people alive or have them die. No where in scripture is that remotely suggestted. Yes it says the power of life and death is in the tongue but it isn't suggesting VOODOOism.

Shame on you BIlly for not thoroughly reading and understanding the writings of Dake. Let me quote one or two passages from his book, "God's Plan for Man"

• That it is not God's direct will for any man to be a sinner or die of a disease? If God had his perfect will done on earth as it is in Heaven, there would have been no sin or sickness at all. When God's will is finally done on Earth as it is in Heaven there will again be no such things as death and sin (Rev. 21:1-7). Since this is true, it cannot be the highest will of God for men to suffer sickness and die today (1 Pet. 2:24; 3 John 2). GPFM, p. 723

Dake would have agreed with Gloria and not the heresy hunting fascism I am seeing on this forum in which Dake is erroneously purported to support.
