God cannot be found in the Scriptures????

Post by Ironman »

I was untill yesterday debating a couple of men on a catholic board. The topic was headed "The most blessed sacrament." I mentioned that I was raised in the catholic church and because of the abuse , idol statue worship and cruelty I and other experienced there, I left because even as a very young boy I realised God was not in that church. I said that I found God in the Scriptures. here is the reply I recieved from one of them.

"God is not in the Scriptures. You can learn some things about God from reading the Scriptures, but He Himself is not there. He is fully present: body, blood, soul, and divinity, on this earth only in the Most Blessed Sacrament."

Says it all doesnt it!

It's kind of a triple whammy, isn't it? Not only do they have a low view of Scripture, but they have a magical view of the sacrament of the Lord's Supper and a skewed understanding of Christ's "body, blood, soul and divinity".

But at least one of their past leaders is on the fast track to becoming a "saint". Funny thing about that "saint", though; he aided and abbetted the child-molester-protector Boston Cardinal Law, blocking the Boston police and other authorities from getting him by offering him a position in Rome. He is now enjoying a nice, comfy position safe under the laws of Vatican City.

Sad isnt it?

.

God is present, body, soul, and divinity on the earth in a cracker?

Maybe a little off topic ,but a friend of mine who at one time was a devout Catholic and I were discussing Catholicism explained to me that there is a new saying or belief in the Catholic Church (Putting Mary In The Basement) meaning she is a vital part of their beliefs but Jesus is becoming more centered. He said Jesus was more of a prominent figure now than ever in the church he attended.
