John 8:42;

What are your thoughts on this statement from a bible I have.

If God were your Father, Jesus replied, you would love me, for I CAME OUT OF GOD HIMSELF, and am now here; nor have I come of myself, but I am his Messenger.

John. 8:42:

It could be that the translaters believed that Jesus before His birth from Mary, was the eternal Son of God from eternity past to eternity future.
Which is still a common belief to this day.

John. 8:42:
KJV..."42 Jesus said unto them, If God were your Father, ye would love me: for I proceeded forth and came from God; neither came I of myself, but he sent me."
The part I don't like is the "I am His messenger".
It seems like some kind of add-on by the interpreters.

Yeah, many can't grasp that Jesus used to be the Word.
They think Jesus has always been Jesus.
