Couple Who Believed in Faith Healing to Be Sentenced for Second Son's Death
Herbert and Catherine Schaible face 20 or more years in prison after the death of their second child, who died after their 8-month-old son died without seeing a doctor. The Schaible family put their trust in faith-healing and lost two sons to illness.
The Schaibles were initially convicted of involuntary manslaughter in their son Kent's death. Kent, 2, died of untreated pneumonia in 2009 and in addition to the conviction, the Schaibles were ordered to seek medical care if any other child got sick. Baby Brandon showed symptoms "similar" to those of his brother, prosecutors said, and passed away.
"We believe in divine healing, that Jesus shed blood for our healing and that he died on the cross to break the devil's power. [Medicine] is against our religious beliefs," Herbert Schaible told police in 2013.
"My husband and I decided we wanted to trust in God," Catherine said while explaining why they did not take Brandon to a doctor.
The Schaibles pleaded no contest to third-degree murder in Brandon's death and have seven surviving children. They are third-generation members of a small Pentecostal community in Pennsylvania and attended the First Century Gospel Church in Philadelphia. Their lawyer plans to bring up their religious beliefs and freedom during their sentencing hearing today.
Pastor Nelson Clark, who has overseen the Schaibles' spiritual welfare, told the Associated Press that the couples lost their sons because of a "spiritual lack" in their faith. He also stated that the family would not stop believing in faith-healing and never use medical care, even if another child was ill.
The seven remaining children have been in foster care ever since Brandon died, and their mother has been allowed to visit them with court supervision. Members of the First Century Gospel Church raised 10 percent of her bail, which allowed her to be put on electronically monitored house arrest at her parents' home. Herbert remains in jail in lieu of $250,000.

The fault in Bible complications is not with God or the Bible, but with men who refuse to believe what God says and think we have to interpret what He says in order to get the meaning. Dake Bible -Mark 11:17 note

Honor physicians for their services,
for the Lord created them;
for their gift of healing comes from the Most High,
and they are rewarded by the king.
The skill of physicians makes them distinguished,
and in the presence of the great they are admired.
The Lord created medicines out of the earth,
and the sensible will not despise them.
Was not water made sweet with a tree
in order that its power might be known?
And he gave skill to human beings
that he might be glorified in his marvelous works.
By them the physician heals and takes away pain;
the pharmacist makes a mixture from them.
God’s works will never be finished;
and from him health spreads over all the earth(Sirach 38:1-8)

Re: Couple Who Believed in Faith Healing Sentenced for Secon
I posted this before. One of my children was dying. Many doctors and hospital stays could find nothing wrong. I in desperation entered the hospitals chapel and prayed in short, God save my child. As I returned to her hospital room, my child was gone. My wife told me a doctor she had never seen before entered the room, introduced himself, examined our child, rushed her into surgery. She had a ovarian cyst as large as a mans fist and it had turned gangrenous. He told us she would have died as soon as it burst and that was going to happen at any moment it was so large.
Thank you God for sending that man, that doctor. I believe in answered prayer and I believe in however God answers prayer. Would he have come had I not prayed in tears? My child had been in and out of hospital for a couple of years complaining of severe abdominal pain so bad it made her vomit at times. I knew God existed but I never prayed, hardly at all back then! As soon as I fell on my knees in tears and prayed, BANG! he was there, and I never even knew until I returned and by then my child was under the knife and was healed!

Ignorance gone to seed.
Notice the statement " we are going to trust God"
When it fails who gets the blame? God of cause, the christian faith is trashed and we become idiots in the eyes of the world for something that should never happened.
Whoever teaches this junk should be booted out of any selfrespecting, Jesus respecting, word of God respecting body of Christ believers.
