Hi ed,

Just read your sentence: Have you ever considered that is exactly how I perceive you? But I have never equated your understanding to a 5 year old.

Note you said: Have you ever considered that is exactly how I perceive you?

How do you consider him?

Well as you say: your understanding to a 5 year old.

See?

First in his comment that I said that is exactly how I perceived him never mentioned a 5 year old and I then went on and said I have never equated your understanding to a 5 year old. So how do you say I'm equating him to a 5 year old?

BECAUSE you said: "Have you ever considered that is exactly how I perceive you?"

In what way did you want him to consider, that is HOW you perceived him?

How did you consider him - as a 5 year old? That is what you wanted him to consider!

Have you ever considered that is exactly how I perceive you? But I have never equated your understanding to a 5 year old. You are this quote personified.
"Marx and Engels never tried to refute their opponents with argument. They insulted, ridiculed, derided, slandered, and traduced them, and in the use of these methods their followers are not less expert. Their polemic is directed never against the argument of the opponent, but always against his person."
The only mention of a 5 year old is me saying I never equated his understanding to that of a 5 year old.
So what are you talking about?

"And are there any that now hear me, who think themselves to be Christians, who do yet, either in their imaginations and thoughts, or in any secret practice, allow and indulge the lust of uncleanness, and live in such a way? If it be so, they had great need to bethink themselves whether or no they are not of that generation that are pure in their own eyes, and yet are not cleansed from their filthiness. If they imagine that they are pure in heart, and live in such wickedness, their confidence is vain presumption. Inquire whether holy exercises and holy employments are the delight of your soul, and what you take pleasure in above all other things in which you can be engaged. Are the enjoyments that you choose, and take the greatest delight in, spiritual and heavenly enjoyments? Is the seeing of God, and conversing with Him, and dwelling in His presence forever, what you should of your own accord choose above all other things?" --Jonathan Edwards (1703-1758)

Positive Confession born and conceived in a positive attitude is a good thing. A positive confession use to disguise a negative reality is a lie and is as destructive as a negative confession born in a negative attitude.

But none of these change reality in and of itself. They do allow the person making the confession to deal with reality in a negative or positive manner. Obviously a positive attitude and accompanying positive confession would most often bring positive results. The inverse would likewise be true.

While neither of these effect reality they can effect how reality is dealt with by the person. A positive attitude and positive confession is usually more prone to trust in God. A negative attitude and negative confession usually is birthed in the non committed trust of God.

I think your first sentence sums it up perfectly. Their have been exchanges on this subject before, some public and some private. I happen to like Leon, although he may not think so. As I said before, since this board is in honor of Dake, one should expect quotes from his writings, no where did I even hint that one should not. As to Leon being able to show where Dake is misunderstood, no one including myself have ever said otherwise, so I don't understand the point of you final paragraph?

I appreciate the response. My issue was that I felt that you were accusing Pastor Bible of placing Dake above the Word of God which I did not feel that he was doing. However, You and I agree for the most part concerning the quotes of Dake on a discussion forum named after him so I will butt out and let you and Pastor Bible work out any issues between you.

Hey and I like Scott TOO - and Ed!

Now of course we disagree on some things but it is just fun picking at each other. I have this fault of liking to irritate people.

I have found that for the most part those who disagree on this board... would be very friendly in person, face to face!

Now they are not WOF like Me, Chris, and you Troy are... but they do love the Lord and I think there is help for for them! And I am just the person to bring out the best in them! (BIG SMILE) +goofy
Hmm. I am not WOF? How did this come about???

Hi Leon,

You said I was, and in keeping with your policy of asking for a quote, I would but then you would accuse me of chasing or something so what would be the point? I look forward to your answer.
