What is interesting is the teaching that has crept into the church that God isn't in control. That man is in charge of his own destiny. Than man can by the use of faith or the lack of faith more or less controls his own destiny.
Where does that leave those the believe scripture that says we are to be servants of God. A servant surely does not control his destiny his master does. If we are truly servants of God than it is God that controls our destiny.
In fact scripture agrees when it says Psalm 37:23 (NKJV)
23 The steps of a good man are ordered by the LORD, And He delights in his way.
Most that teach God isn't in control never want to discuss Job. In Job we see God tell Satan what he can and can not do.Job 1:12 (NKJV)
12 And the LORD said to Satan, "Behold, all that he has is in your power; only do not lay a hand on his person." So Satan went out from the presence of the LORD.
Yet we see in all of this Job 1:22 (NKJV)
22 In all this Job did not sin nor charge God with wrong.
Then again God tells Satan what he can and can not do.
Job 2:6 (NKJV)
6 And the LORD said to Satan, "Behold, he is in your hand, but spare his life."
And again we see Job is reported to be sinless. Job 2:10 (NKJV)
10 But he said to her, "You speak as one of the foolish women speaks. Shall we indeed accept good from God, and shall we not accept adversity?" In all this Job did not sin with his lips.
Notice also who Job said allowed this to happen GOD and immediately scripture says Job did not sin with his lips. So if it wasn't God and Job charged God scripture would have to report Job sinned with his lips that scripture clearly says Job did not sin with his lips.
So I beg you don't be like an evolutionist denying God be like Job and don't sin with your lips. God is in control.

Control does not mean nor does it suggest God makes everything that happens, happen. However control does say nothing happens unless God allows it, further I believe a lot of things simply don't happen because God does not allow it.bibleman wrote:Hi Ed,Justaned wrote:To believe God isn't in control lines up with the evolutionist that say life just happened. In a world tainted by sin, death occurs, God said it would. However God is never surprized when some lives or dies. God will allow man the choice to sin or not, when man is lead by lust of the eyes, lust of the flesh and pride of life death will occur.

THERE IS A GREAT DANGER in the acquisition of Bible knowledge!
IVE SAID it here many times as i heard Reverend Ernest Angley teach it that WE SEE THROUGH A GLASS DARKLY.1 COR 13.THERE IS MUCH WE DO NOT KNOW.
WE WONT "KNOW IT ALL" UNTIL WE SEE HIM.
NOW WE SEE THROUGH A GLASS DARKLY....

If God gives Satan the ability and allows him to tempt us, steal from us and to kill us but God retains ultimate veto power, then yes God is in control. Satan can only do what God allows him to do, as God has the ability, the power and the might to stop, modify or allow anything Satan and sin effects may cause.

And that is exactly what the evolutionist would have us believe, God doesn't exist things just happen and man has got to grab control of his destiny. That is the same lie the serpent told Eve in the garden. You are smart enough to know what is good and not good for you, you destiny lies within you. Take eat and show creation who is really in control.

Above you said: "God is in control."
So according to you God made George Zimmerman kill Trayvon Martin!
So my question would be why would God want to kill Trayvon Martin?
In a world tainted by sin, death occurs, God said it would. However God is never surprized when some lives or dies. God will allow man the choice to sin or not, when man is lead by lust of the eyes, lust of the flesh and pride of life death will occur.
Above you said: "Control does not mean nor does it suggest God makes everything that happens, happen. However control does say nothing happens unless God allows it, further I believe a lot of things simply don't happen because God does not allow it."
In that statement you just admitted God is NOT in control!
Above you said: "Control does not mean nor does it suggest God makes everything that happens, happen."
If God does not make EVERYTHING happen, then someone else does! And if someone else does... then the someone else is in control.
ED my friend, think about what you have written.
God bless

The fault in Bible complications is not with God or the Bible, but with men who refuse to believe what God says and think we have to interpret what He says in order to get the meaning. Dake Bible -Mark 11:17 note

Re: Does everything happen for a reason?
No God has decided man is destined for eternal damnation unless man responses to the conviction of the Holy Spirit and accepts Christ as his Lord. If Christ is truly Lord of the man then Christ and not man is in control.bibleman wrote:So in your humble opinion is man in control of his own life or not?
Either way God control man's destiny.
Evolutionist would tell us man is in control that God did not create us, that God has no control over us, that things happen per chance. But even nature testifies that is a lie, all of nature is controlled by God, even to when the flower dies and gives up it's seed for another to come next year.
