Yes, my Brothers in Christ, I am well aware that the Mormon's operate from false premises. Their doctrines are anathema to God, and a stench in my/our nostrils. Be that as it may, I must find ways to reach them, that they may see beyond the falsity of their positions. Living here in what I call, "Mormon Land," SW Utah, I am struck by the hopelessness that they accept as their lot. Intellectually strong, they lack the fundamentals of Bible knowledge, strengthened and guided by The Precious Holy Spirit. It's as if they rely upon the "bullet points" of their beliefs, relying upon non-Scriptural verification, depending upon their earnestness, and their "command" of their beliefs- which are not based upon The Word of God. If they were to become snake oil salesmen, or attempted to bamboozle the unknowing, they would, no doubt, be successful. However, they are stymied by The Word of God, and by the leading of The Precious Holy Spirit, in leading willing Christians, who stand in the gap...
Titus 2:13 and Justaned, so far, have provided the best weapons to wield in this spiritual knife fight. Knife fight? Yes, my Brothers in Christ, for it is too easy to use a spiritual WMD to crush them- but I seek to win them to Christ, for it is not God's will, that any should perish... Would it not be better to bring two respected, influential members of the Mormon community, into the Kingdom of God, to testify of His Love, in the form of Our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ? There are so many Mormons, and so little time... I've heard, recently, that there are more Christians, than Mormons in Salt Lake City... I pray that that is true... Such vileness needs to be dispelled by the Glorious Gospel of Jesus Christ, that such a region be brought out of death and darkness, and into the light and life eternal of Christ Jesus...
Please search your hearts, that I may reach them... You have much experience, much wisdom, and much compassion to share with others...
Thank-You, and may Our God and Father, Our Lord and Savior, and The Precious Holy Spirit strengthen you, and give you peace...

I realize you are in the hotbed of Mormonism out there in Utah.
I had a college professor a mighty man of God that testified that he worked on the mormons in his own family for over 20 years to no avail. I also knew a Rhema Pastor that was married into a family of Mormons. His wife was a Christian but the rest of the family were Mormons. Dye in the wool even down to the sacred underwear. He spent untold hours trying to break through.
Unless the Holy Spirit opens the door there is not much you can do with them. They have been systematically taught how to resist Christian evangelism. They have studied their religion and how to resist Christian doctrine far longer than most Christians have ever studied Christianity. They go through drills where the teacher throws out objections to Mormonism and they must answer. Do that once a week for few years and see how resistant you become to anything else.
They know every point of attack that a Christian will try to use and have studied and rehearsed their responses over and over. I keep a Mormon bible with various verses underlined and when they come I sit down with their bible an ask them things where their bible contradicts itself. Most have never heard of these things so it is all new to them. Problem is they are also conditioned that if they recognized they aren't making headway they excuse themselves and leave. They may come back with an elder that is trained to answer these contradictions or they will just mark my house on a map and avoid it.
The fields are white for harvest, harvest in furtile fields and let the cultist with the cult, unless you know that you know that God wants you to share with this Mormon.

."Unless the Holy Spirit opens the door there is not much you can do with them."
Friends of my late mother are Mormons with the son in law being a high up their ladder leader in America. I knew him personally when he lived here in Aus.
My opinion of them, on what I know of them and especially of him, is this. We all know how large hangers that house Boing 747's are. Well, the Holy Spirit can open these hanger doors wide as they will open, and not one of them will walk through, because they are stuborn, thick muel headed individuals who just refuse to obey God. They believe they know better than God Himself. They follow their leaders like an ox goeth to the slaughter, like a fool to the correction of the stocks.
Galatians 4: 16, Am I therefore become your enemy, because I tell you the truth?

God wants all men to be saved, so why wouldn't the Holy spirit open doors to those who wanted to be saved??Ironman wrote:."Unless the Holy Spirit opens the door there is not much you can do with them."

It seems to me that even if some people were thrown a life raft they would refuse it believing they needed no help because they believe they can swim to shore all by themselves.

"What about those that died before The Flood, and after Jesus rose to Heaven? Is not Paradise full of those who have not heard the Gospel of Christ?"
They were saved by faith; faith in the promise of God that a coming seed of the woman would crush the serpent's head (Genesis 3.15). As God unfolded that initial promise in successive generations, to Noah and then to Abraham, David, etc. salvation came as people "believed the LORD, and the LORD reckoned it to them as righteousness" (Genesis 15.6). How did those promises get communicated to non-Jewish people? Well, just as the Church is expected to be today, Israel was expected to be a light to other nations shining the truth and reality of her God to all her neighbors. After all, the blessing given to Abraham was to include "all the families of the earth" (Genesis 12.3).
So yes, there were many who did not hear the gospel as Jesus and his disciples declared it -- that the Kingdom had actually arrived with the coming of the King in human flesh. But they heard the gospel as God had revealed it in the pre-arrival days; as Paul could write, "And the scripture, foreseeing that God would justify the Gentiles by faith, declared the gospel beforehand to Abraham, saying, “All the Gentiles shall be blessed in you.” (Galatians 3.8).
I am also reminded of how Paul addressed pagan cultures in his day. For example, to the Athenian intellectuals he announced "The God who made the world and everything in it, he who is Lord of heaven and earth, does not live in shrines made by human hands, nor is he served by human hands, as though he needed anything, since he himself gives to all mortals life and breath and all things. From one ancestor he made all nations to inhabit the whole earth, and he allotted the times of their existence and the boundaries of the places where they would live, so that they would search for God and perhaps grope for him and find him—though indeed he is not far from each one of us." (Acts 17.24-27). It has always been the case that those who seek the Lord with all their heart will find him. He doesn't want any to perish, but all to come to repentance.

I've found myself in a bit of a conundrum. Two Mormon's stopped by last night, wondering about my status, vis-a-vis Salvation, and in my case, in Christ Jesus. I assured them that I was/am saved, and why. Then, the conversation became "interesting..."
After many minutes of shredding their doctrines, and those of Man and Religion, they decided to pull out their "heavy guns..."
"Justifying" their practice of baptizing the dead, they posited, "What about all those who died, never hearing the Gospel of Jesus Christ?"
"What about those that died before The Flood, and after Jesus rose to Heaven? Is not Paradise full of those who have not heard the Gospel of Christ?"
"How can a "just" God condemn those that have never heard the Name of Jesus, nor heard the Gospel He Preached?"
I know that God is just, "fair," is the meaning and definition of Love, Mercy, Grace, Holiness, and oh, so much more... How do I, Scriptually, reach them? Book, chapter, and verse?
I can only state what I believe, based upon the Inerrant, Perfect, Holy Word of God. To me, EVERYTHING is based upon God's Word, therefore, His Word is the ONLY and final answer.
Yes, "the secret things of God, are God's." Yes, this is very most likely well above my pay grade- certainly beyond my present knowledge...
I never sought to be a missionary to the Mormons. I still don't desire that job, for I feel ill equipped to joust with them, though I do have The Word of God, and of course, The Precious Holy Spirit...
I'm not seeing the right places in The Word, or I'm not asking the right questions. I'm lacking, not God, or His Word...
Relying upon your wisdom, experience, and knowledge, I am asking for Scriptural advice on how to respond, to shoot their treads off, and convict them of their woeful state. They are well versed in their false doctrine, and yes, God has shown me some holes to break their armor, but I'm missing something, and it's my lack, never God's...
So, please prayerfully respond to my plight.
Thank-You...

You mentioned those two who are Mormons who visited you and asked questions such as:
"What about all those who died, never hearing the Gospel of Jesus Christ?"
"What about those that died before The Flood, and after Jesus rose to Heaven? Is not Paradise full of those who have not heard the Gospel of Christ?"
"How can a "just" God condemn those that have never heard the Name of Jesus, nor heard the Gospel He Preached?"
Brother I believe all of mankind from Adam to the Cross have had the Gospel Of JESUS THE CHRIST Preached unto them.
1 Peter 3:18-20
18 For Christ also hath once suffered for sins, the just for the unjust, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh, but quickened by the Spirit:
19 By which also he went and preached unto the spirits in prison;
20 Which sometime were disobedient, when once the longsuffering of God waited in the days of Noah, while the ark was a preparing, wherein few, that is, eight souls were saved by water.
1 Peter 4:5-6
5 Who shall give account to him that is ready to judge the quick and the dead.
6 For for this cause was the gospel preached also to them that are dead, that they might be judged according to men in the flesh, but live according to God in the spirit.
