Where are the "Index" and the 8,000 sermon's outlines?

Post by Mazwal »

Hello to all !
I'm Walter, a new member.
I bought a Dake's Bible (Large print ed.) about a month ago. Reading the Preface - on the left column, about its bottom - I read, quote: "Of particular interest to ministers will be the wealth of sermon material - over 8,000 outlines on a great variety of subjects [found under One, Two, Three etc. in the index] and 2,000 illustrations." end quote

Now I would have a question: where is that "index", at which page exactely? I have gone throughout the Bible but I wasn't able to find that "Index" nor those outlines.
Can anyone help me, please?
Thank you in advance!

Hi Walter, Welcome!

The index is in the back of the Bible right after the book of Revelation.
It is called "Complete Concordance and Cyclopedic Index"
It is right after page 561 and begins on page 1.

As to the 8,000 outlines and 2,000 illustrations - YOU will find them scattered throught the Bible next to the Scripture verses that reference them.

EXAMPLE:

Scripture Mark 11:23 has a note C.
Looking at note C in the margin you will see:

Chart: Ten Conditions of Answered Prayer
1. Have the faith of God (Rom. 4:17; Heb. 11:3; Gal. 5:22–23).
2. Pray: say in no unceratin terms what you want (Mk. 11:23–24; Mt. 17:20; 21:21–22; Jn. 15:7).
3. Have unlimited faith without qualifying and limiting God’s will or what you want (Mk. 11:23–24; Mt. 17:20; 21:21–22; Mk. 9:23; Jn. 15:7, 16).
4. Refuse to doubt in the heart (Mk. 11:23; Mt. 17:20; Jas. 1:5–8).
5. Believe that whatever is asked will be given (Mk. 11:23–24; Mt. 7:7–11; 17:20; 21:21–22; Heb. 11:6).
6. Believe that whatever is asked is already granted (Mk. 11:24; Mt. 17:20; 1Jn. 5:14–15).
7. Be authoritative and command to come to pass what is asked (Mk. 11:23–24; Mt. 17:20; Mk. 9:23).
8. Believe that what you want is God’s will (Mk. 11:24; Jn. 15:7; Mt. 17:20; 21:21–22; Heb. 11:6; Jas. 1:5–8).
9. Never say “if it be Thy will” concerning anything you ask that is definitely promised of God in His word (Mk. 11:23; Ps. 84:11; 2Cor. 1:20; 2Pet. 1:3–4).
10. Have a clean heart and life with God and man (Mk. 11:25; Jn. 15:7; 1Jn. 3:22–23).
“Whatsoever,” “anything,” “all things,” “what ye will,” “what things soever ye desire,” “Whatsoever he saith,” and other unlimited terms are found in Scripture, assuring the possibilities and absolute certainty of answered prayer.
