Re: Who is correct?
Listen to any Evangelical preacher/teacher and they will put their beliefs above the Word of God every time.
If you cannot understand that you are just as corrupt in your theology turning your beliefs into the word of God.

I understand that, and agree with you on the corruption they espouse.
I was just wondering what exactly provoked you to start this thread. If you cannot understand that you are just as corrupt in your theology turning your beliefs into the word of God.

Ok, let's start with "healing is not in the atonement " this is classed as the normal state in Christianity and "healing is in the atonement " is heresy.

I suppose "that which is healed" is in question.
While the atonement of Jesus Christ won't make all your tooth cavities disappear, it will heal one's soul.

Re: Who is correct?
That's the argument from the side that holds that healing is not in the atonement.
They claim that if it were, it would be just as common to see tooth cavities disappear as it is to see sins forgiven.
To them, it would seem, that if healing is in the atonement, the rarity of cavities being completely healed would indicate the rarity of sins actually being forgiven.

The place to start, if there really is some argument, is "What healing are we talking about ?"Spiritblade Disciple wrote: ↑Wed Oct 18, 2023 1:57 pmThat's the argument from the side that holds that healing is not in the atonement.
Jesus didn't die to heal us from tooth aches or cancer. They claim that if it were, it would be just as common to see tooth cavities disappear as it is to see sins forgiven.
It is a strawman argument. To them, it would seem, that if healing is in the atonement, the rarity of cavities being completely healed would indicate the rarity of sins actually being forgiven.
