Earth = Dry Land proves a Pre-Adamite World

Post by bibleman »

Earth -- Dry Land

Comparing Gen. 1:1 with Gen. 1:10, we see that "earth" and "dry land" are synonymous.

Since the earth was originally created dry land, Gen. 1:2 refers to a flood on dry land because of sin.

Dry land must have been created before the waters, or there would have been no place to hold the waters.

Finis Jennings Dake, Dake's Annotated Reference Bible: Containing the Old and New Testaments of the Authorized or King James Version Text, (Lawrenceville, GA: Dake Bible Sales, Inc., 1997), WORDsearch CROSS e-book, Under: "Side Notes And End Notes Of Genesis".
This being the case then we have:

Genesis 1:1 In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth (dry land).

In Genesis 1:2 we find the dry land flooded with water!

Why did this flood take place?

The fault in Bible complications is not with God or the Bible, but with men who refuse to believe what God says and think we have to interpret what He says in order to get the meaning. Dake Bible -Mark 11:17 note

Gen 1:2 say the earth..... little “e”
Gen 1:10 God called the dry land Earth... big “E”

While they may the be same hebrew word, it can mean different things.

I know a lady named May, I meet her in the month of May, when I said: “May I help you”

The same word, three times, each with a different meaning.

A quick review of the word shows it may mean.
the earth as a whole
the earth as opposed to heaven
the earth inhabitant.

Or land
country or territory
district or region
tribal territory

Why did this flood take place?
There were two great floods on the earth, both times the floods were sent by God because of sin. The first was because of Lucifer's rebellion, the second because of the wickedness of man.

Lucifer's flood, everything was destroyed including all life on earth. Noah's flood, animals, birds, sea life and man were not all destroyed.

In vs 10- dry land.
But in vs 2? It’s not so clear which was your original assertion.
