And Macca is avoiding the defense of the proposition by making an ad hominem attack.

Mark. 14:51-52;
And there followed Him a certain young man, having a linen cloth cast about his naked body;
and the young men laid hold on him:
And he left the linen cloth and fled from them naked.

The key to understanding what is happening here is the word 'linen' (Sindon)
It is only found here and in Mark, 15:46; twice..
And they bought fine linen, and took Jesus's body down, and wrapped Him in the linen, and laid Him in a sepulchre.

And in Matthew.27:59;
And when Joseph had taken the body of Jesus, he wrapped it in clean linen cloth.

And in Luke 23:53;
And Joseph took the body of Jesus down, and wrapped it in linen.

What the young man was waring was his grave clothes. For where Jesus was praying in the garden was very close
to a cemetery and when the multitude (well over 600 men) came with Judas to arrest Jesus, Jesus asked,
Whom do you seek?
They answered Him, Jesus of Nazareth. Jesus said to them, I Am.
And they all went backwards and fell on the ground.

There was enough power in those two words of Jesus to not only knock down over 600 men but also
to raise the young man from the dead....
The young man knew it was Jesus who had raised him and wanted to thank Jesus and worship Him,
that is why he was there in grave clothes alive and well.
Man is given permission to believe anything they want, I guess.
But without scriptural back-up, those beliefs are only just that...personal beliefs.
I don't buy into your thesis.
Scriptural backup?????? Where is yours????
For what, that your assumption isn't in the bible?

BTW, Jesus didn't say "I am" to the mob.
"As soon then as he had said unto them, I am he, they went backward, and fell to the ground." (John 18:6)
Why did you capitalize the A of "am" in your rendition?

Jesus did say 'I Am ' ego aimi, first person singular, I exist
Exactly as He stated in John. 8:58; before Abraham was, I Am.
The "he " has been added by the translaters thinking they
have made the statement clearer.
They should have left it alone as Jesus is the Great I Am of
the Bible.

Jesus was showing all and sundry that He had the power
To destroy all those that came to arrest Him, but it was His time to die for all mankind, from Adam to all those born forever.

1 Corinthians 1:27 (KJV)
[27] But God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise; and God hath chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty;

This is exactly what you all are doing. Who cares who the young man was? Does any of us doubt that had Jesus commanded that all the dead of earth from Adam to that day to rise that they would have? Does any doubt that Jesus could have called down the armies of heaven to protect Him? This passage was given to teach us.

Teach us a breech of faith will cause us to doubt. The young man in this passage was not alone, it says they ALL fled. This is how it is today Jesus is left standing alone when Christians stand silent instead of telling the world of Jesus. Many Christians stand proud in their pure white linen garments of salvation until the time comes when they must stand up for Jesus, then they fled naked into the night only to crawl out in the morning to complain about how bad society is.

Yes, speculation

Jesus asked the approaching mob..."Whom seek ye?"
And Jesus responded "I am he".
That is what is written.
To claim otherwise is unwise...at best.

Jesus' actual response doesn't offend me at all.
Any offense would be to add to or subtract from what the Holy Spirit has brought forward through the ages.
The Jews didn't "fall backward" when Jesus did say "I am."
Why would they later?

For anyone Christian or Gay to add to scripture, enhance scripture or try to reach an unstated assumption is sin.
Romans 1 clearly tells us why there are homosexuals, it does not mince words or confuse term it is clear and concise.
God gave them over to such sickness. No homosexual can be a Christian because God's very definition of homosexuals is someone that worships something other than God.
