A fight to get into the word of God daily and see our faith grow!
Who are you fighting with to get into the Word?

I know what you mean, just jerking your chain.
Yeah I know!!!!

+hammer

The guy with the hammer is me and the guy with the head getting hit is me as well. I guess I must be fighting my flesh!

Is everyone in complete agreement with Hagin's Resolved to Grow devotional?

Any thoughts, insights, disagreements, or points that you'd like to emphasize?
I love brother Hagin (Listen to him all the time) but I guess I would disagree a bit here.

Hagin states: "The only fight the Christian is called upon to fight is the fight of faith."

Then he says: "If your faith is not growing, it’s because your knowledge of God’s Word is not growing."

I agree!

So then I think we have a ANOTHER fight here. A fight to get into the word of God daily and see our faith grow!

And in today's world with all its demands that for sure can be a fight.
I was also thinking that since that which is not of faith is sin, then any lack of faith is sin. Therefore fighting the good fight of faith is, in a way, fighting against sin.

2 Thessalonians 2:10b-12 King James Version
... because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved... GOD SHALL SEND THEM STRONG DELUSION, that they should believe a lie: THAT THEY ALL MIGHT BE DAMNED who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness.

Amen to that.
Inversely. fighting against sin, (or temptation), is a fight FOR our faith.

I have heard others state that they fight against sin, or they often say they struggle with sin. Some say they struggle with lust, pornography, lying, slandering, drunkenness, and so on. I think one who struggles or wrestles with something does not realize they can stop completely whenever they so choose by the power they have been granted.

I knew a man that was strong in the bible, but confessed that he would go home and put in tapes of porn (this might out date some of you young bucks as this was back in the day when you rented video tapes from movie stores).

He would plead to be helped, yet when told to not go get the tapes, he would still do it. This says to me he was not willing to stop by the power God has given. Trying never works - doing works. Jesus commanded the prostitute to go and sin no more, not go, you will struggle with sin. How simple was that command He gave her?

I am not often confronted by sin, yet when I am, I refuse it through the power granted me. I realize sin is out there waiting, but refusing sin seems bold to some, yet doesn't God's word tell us we have that power and are to operate in it? The answers to most things, such as dealing with sin, are so simple, yet often overlooked.

It is written..."And they that are Christ's have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts." (Gal 5:24)
Giving in to lusts shows that one is not Christ's.
They have yet to crucify the flesh with the affections and lusts.

Hi Billy.

Satan does not tempt God’s children because they have sin in them, but because they have grace in them. Had they no grace, the devil would not disturb them.

James 3:2 For in many things we offend all. If any man offend not in word, the same is a perfect man, and able also to bridle the whole body.

Personally , I try not to be dominated by anything, but?

1 John 1: 8, If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.

Romans 3: 10, As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one:

Romans 7: 24, O wretched man that I am! who shall deliver me from the body of this death?

Romans 7: 19-20, v 19, For the good that I would I do not: but the evil which I would not, that I do.
v 20, Now if I do that I would not, it is no more I that do it, but sin that dwelleth in me.

Romans 7: 22-23, v 22, For I delight in the law of God after the inward man:
v 23, But I see another law in my members, warring against the law of my mind, and bringing me into captivity to the law of sin which is in my members.

Romans 7: 15-17, v 15, For that which I do I allow not: for what I would, that do I not; but what I hate, that do I.
v 16, If then I do that which I would not, I consent unto the law that it is good.
v 17, Now then it is no more I that do it, but sin that dwelleth in me.

1 Peter 4: 12, Beloved, think it not strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you, as though some strange thing happened unto you:

Romans 8:1,There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.

1 John 1: 9, If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

I love these Scriptures,

1 Cor. 10: 13, There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.

Ephesians 6:12, For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.

25. Romans 13: 14, But put ye on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make not provision for the flesh, to fulfil the lusts thereof.

Galatians 4: 16, Am I therefore become your enemy, because I tell you the truth?

You managed to include nearly every scripture the devil uses to make the body of Christ seem to include sin.
You have his playbook down pat.
I'm glad you showed some scriptures at the end that refute the disastrous adherence to lies.
What is the lie?
That men can't permanently "turn from" sin.
