I believe that Jesus talked about Hell more than Heaven and that He talked about Hell more than anyone else in the Bible.

Yep and knowing Jesus was purpose driven speaking the things of God by the Spirit, hell was no doubt (as with all things Jesus spoke about) a very important subject.Spiritblade Disciple wrote: ↑Thu May 25, 2023 12:12 amI believe that Jesus talked about Hell more than Heaven and that He talked about Hell more than anyone else in the Bible.

Nobody will be able to say they were not warned, on the day of judgement.Spiritblade Disciple wrote: ↑Thu May 25, 2023 12:12 amI believe that Jesus talked about Hell more than Heaven and that He talked about Hell more than anyone else in the Bible.

Hell is mentioned 15 times in the gospels, and 54 times in the entire bible.Spiritblade Disciple wrote: ↑Thu May 25, 2023 12:12 amI believe that Jesus talked about Hell more than Heaven and that He talked about Hell more than anyone else in the Bible.
Heaven is mentioned 141 times in the gospels and 691 times in the entire bible.

Very interesting stats.
How often is Hell mentioned in the Pauline epistles?
If memory serves, only once. And, then, not even by name in the KJV.
If true, I'd be interested in reading why Hell isn't mentioned much, if at all, in Paul's epistles? From a conditional security perspective, it doesn't make as much sense for it to go nearly unmentioned as it does from the perspective of unconditional security.

I figure Paul is writing letters to converted churches that were past making their choice on heaven or hellIf true, I'd be interested in reading why Hell isn't mentioned much, if at all, in Paul's epistles?
Were Paul in an apologetical scenario, the subject of hell may have arisen occasionally. From a conditional security perspective, it doesn't make as much sense for it to go nearly unmentioned as it does from the perspective of unconditional security.
But he was merely writing letters to what he deemed to be believers.
How often so we mention hell in our posts?

He'll isn't mentioned by name in the KJV of Paul's epistles. The one place where the word "Hell" should appear in the KJV of Paul's epistles is in 1st Corinthians 15:55:
"O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory?"
- 1 Corinthians 15:55 KJV
I agree with Dake that the Greek word "Hades" should have been translated as "Hell," here, rather than "grave."
O Hell, where is thy victory?

I notice that Paul continues on in the next verse with further descriptions of death but not of the grave or of hell.Spiritblade Disciple wrote: ↑Fri May 26, 2023 12:45 amHe'll isn't mentioned by name in the KJV of Paul's epistles. O Hell, where is thy victory?
(1 Cor 15:56)..."The sting of death is sin; and the strength of sin is the law."
I would think that if he had any insights on hell, as opposed to the grave, (which everyone can identify with), he would have supplied something about it.
What picture appears in your mind when you write of "hell"?
