Re: Where the word MATE originated.

Today is remembrance day in Australia. At the eleventh day on the eleventh month and the at eleventh hour, we pause for one minutes silence to remember those who died in the first world was. I learnt today that the Aussie word Mate, originated in the trenches in France where the diggers called each...

Re: Old or new

The vail, untaken away. Many people to this very day believe the ten commandments including the sabbath are still in force. How does that make the verse "wrong"? Your post made me think of the new "law of liberty"...freedom from the Mosaic Law. "Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ ...

What is wrong with this verse?

2 Cor. 3:14;
But their minds were blinded: for until this day remains the same vail untaken away in reading the old testament; which vail is done away in Christ.
I'll bite...what is wrong with it?
Besides the archaic spelling of "vail".

Re: Eternally secure and thus cannot lose their salvation

This sort of flies in the face of once saved always saved, because if a man is saved and cannot fall away, then his salvation is assured and would not need final judgment. Of course there are different judgments, yet what would final judgement do for an already saved person, except for rewards? I s...

Re: The Blood

I notice you have changed the description from Plead to call? I like to remind myself and satan of all that Jesus won for mankind through His shed Blood, when I pray and thank God for all He has done for us at the death, burial and resurrection. Its the Blood of the New Covenant and its been ratifi...

Re: Eternally secure and thus cannot lose their salvation

I have heard those names mentioned often, mostly on forums, but I have never studied the two men and really could not tell you what they believe, so their beliefs have not affected me, but maybe they have affected many others. That I don't know. I have heard people say Calvin started OSAS, but if y...

Re: Eternally secure and thus cannot lose their salvation

Granted I will give you that. When did the new covenant begin? Wasn't it when the testator died? So then, you imply that no saint sinned, or was able to sin, after that time? You are correct about the start of the NT. To be labeled a saint in the NT, you must be sin-free. Before Christ's death, bur...
