Re: we all need to attend Church

The church is an assembly of God's people. That's implicit in the very word ekklesia, the “called out” ones. The ekklesia of Jesus consists of those who have been called out from the world for the very purpose of assembling themselves in the presence of God. It's the duty of every Christian to assem...

Re: A Christian MUST believe that....16 Bible Truths

A Christian Must Believe: That The Bible IS the Word of God, not that it merely CONTAINS the Word of God (2Tim. 3:16; Heb. 4:12; 2Pet. 1:16-21). That God created all material and spiritual substance out of which He personally formed the worlds and each creature therein (Gen. 1:1; 2:7, 19; Ps. 8; 102...

Re: Is there any mention of people having pets in Scripture.

Since Solomon was mentioned in another thread I thought I'd mention 1 Kings 4:33-34: [Solomon] spoke also of animals and birds and creeping things and fish. Men (came from all peoples to hear the wisdom of Solomon, from all the kings of the earth who had heard of his wisdom. I would imagine that som...

Re: Where are the dinosaurs?

The two are different ideas from one another also due to their origin. The one idea (Dake's) is founded upon Scripture regarding the existence of Lucifer as a ruler on the planet (especially Ezekiel 28) The other idea (Stott's) by his own admission is a supposition not founded upon Scripture but upo...

Re: Where are the dinosaurs?

Heresy is a tricky business. In the first few centuries of the Church, after the death of the apostles, anyone who was trying to figure out the best way to express what the Bible teaches on certain subjects could easily be accused of 'heresy'. It is very easy to throw the term around far too lightly...

Re: Underlined Phrase in the Dake Bible

Greetings, I was just wondering what the underlined phrases in the Dake Bible refer to? For instance, in Luke 17:19, the phrase, "thy faith hath made thee whole" is underlined? What exactly is the purpose of underlining this (and other phrases)? Thank you! I think it's just Rev. Dake's way of highl...

Re: Terah age

The bible does not clearly say Abram left Haran after his father died. There is interpretation said the father in Acts is actually not Terah but Noah. Since Noah at some stage was with Abram. Other the statement of Terah had the 3 sons when he was 70 was meaningless or a fault. You are mistaken. Ac...

Re: Terah age

"If the Bible says Terah had Abram as his son at 70, that Abram must have been born before Terah was 70. So how can Dake said Terah gave birth to Abram at 135?" The Bible doesn't say that Terah had Abram as his son at age 70. If we read Genesis 11:26 in that way, we'd have to say that Terah had tri...
