Re: Dake and Divine Attributes

Genesis 18:21 I will go down now, and see whether they have done altogether according to the cry of it, which is come unto me; and if not, I will know. But that being said where in Genesis 18:21 do you find the liberal modern day understanding of the omniscience and omnipresence of God? Most libera...

Re: Dake and Divine Attributes

It is easy to disagree, but what is impossible is to go to the Scriptures, read them, believe them.... and still disagree! 9. Omniscience (all-knowing) as far as His nature, plan, and work are concerned (Rom. 11:33). As to free moral agents, God learns certain things about them (Gen. 6:5-7; 11:5-7;...

Re: Dake and Divine Attributes

Heb. 4:13 says, "Neither is there any creature that is not manifest in His sight: but all things are naked and opened unto the eyes of Him with whom we have to do." Dake's DARB note f on this text says: "Gr. ktisis, created thing...Every thought, desire, and intent of every creature of God are cons...

Was Paul, in Galations. 5; talking about the Holy Spirit or the personal spirit of every Christian?
Culture would suggest that he was talking of the personal spirit. Everyone live according to their truth, their spirit.

Re: Was William Bradford and the brethren of Plymouth righteous OR sinful for executing a 17 year old boy for beastialit

There is a saying used in the planning of military encounters. Everything works according to plan until the moment of first contact. Truthfully, no one knows how they will respond until they actually encounter the situation. People can boast of what they would do, but at this point it is all talk. A...

Are we in agreement then?
That they had no right to kill the teenager?
Having a legal “right” to does not make an action righteous.

Re: Was William Bradford and the brethren of Plymouth righteous OR sinful for executing a 17 year old boy for beastialit

What I presented above was the fact that Bradford did have a CIVIL law to do what he and the other brothers did. Yes, indeed you pointed that out. I have not denied they were within the law to do what they did. However, acting within the perimeters of the law does not necessarily make an action rig...

Re: Was William Bradford and the brethren of Plymouth righteous OR sinful for executing a 17 year old boy for beastialit

So by your reasoning there was no civil law when Jesus was alive. Interesting Where is the post that I said that? It does not exist, you are just being wacko! Oh, but it does. When I asked about the woman caught in adultery. The civil law at the time was that she be stoned. And by your earlier stat...

Stoning adulterers wasn't "civil" law.
It was religious law. (Lev 20:10)
The nation of Israel was under religious law, for them the Torah was both religious and civil.
