Re: Eternally secure and thus cannot lose their salvation
Granted I will give you that. When did the new covenant begin? Wasn't it when the testator died? So then, you imply that no saint sinned, or was able to sin, after that time? You are correct about the start of the NT. To be labeled a saint in the NT, you must be sin-free. Before Christ's death, bur...

Re: Eternally secure and thus cannot lose their salvation
I don't paint the term exactly in that light. There are folks in different levels of their walk with God. There is ignorance and not all understand all light. To paint a broad stroke across this doesn't fully work in my way of thinking, yet I am guilty of doing this. When I use the small "c&qu...

Re: Eternally secure and thus cannot lose their salvation
Would you say that your Church You called it "the Church by Christ Jesus (Eph 3:21)", is the only saved Church?? Salvation won't be assured for anyone till the final judgement. I don't presume to know if any part of the body will be saved, or not, but if we "endure till the end"...

Re: Eternally secure and thus cannot lose their salvation
Here in Virginia there is little to no power in the churches, especially when it comes to healing. If there is power, you don't hear of it being manifested in healing. Of course a topic for another thread. When you say "churches", do you mean those who have forsaken sin and come to the li...

Re: Eternally secure and thus cannot lose their salvation
So then by your understanding of Hebrews chapter six, you would say that Peter, Moses, Abraham, David, and many others were never saved, nor did they get saved because they tasted the good word of God and were enlightened? To say that Peter was not enlightened would pose a serious challenge, but ye...

Re: Eternally secure and thus cannot lose their salvation
This is part of the Statement of Faith of a church in our area: Those truly redeemed by Jesus, are eternally secure and thus cannot lose their salvation. Though they may fall, through neglect or temptation, into sin, and in so doing, impair their graces and comforts, interrupt the joy of their fell...

Re: God's thoughts - righteous living.
Here is the standard by which we are to live..."Be ye therefore perfect, even as your father which is in heaven is perfect." (Matt 5:48)Grandfather wrote: ↑Wed Oct 10, 2018 9:10 pm I believe Christians are more righteous than they know, but less righteous than they think.

Re: God's thoughts - righteous living.
Anyone have any discussion points about what God thinks concerning a man who chooses and lives righteous? I am sure there are hundreds of thoughts on this, yet here are 10 thoughts that quickly come to my mind: 1. God commands righteousness 2. It is blessed by God 3. Wisdom from above is utilized 4...

I know that it will happen, and that God has given us everything we need to be ready for it.branham1965 wrote: ↑Tue Sep 11, 2018 6:15 pm There are many views today on the Second Coming of the Lord Jesus Christ.
I am curious what the views of posters here are on eschatology.
