Re: divine

I don't see those scrip' as literally as you. I think that not seeing the scripture with the same degree of literalness explains a lot of disagreements concerning the meaning of any given portion of scripture. Probably not the only reason for differences in understanding, but a very common reason o...

Re: divine

If God is a man, then He is not a Spirit. Why would being "a Spirit" rule out being "a man"? I'd argue that the Bible doesn't rule out a man being a spirit. Consider what Paul says in 1st Corinthians 14. He says that if he prays in an unknown tongue, his spirit prays. In other w...

Re: divine

But the Holy Spirit descended in the likeness of a dove ! Not man shaped. Luke 3:22 New King James Version And the Holy Spirit descended in bodily form LIKE A DOVE upon Him, and a voice came from heaven which said, “You are My beloved Son; in You I am well pleased.” The Holy Spirit descended like a...

Re: divine

If God is a man, then He is not a Spirit. Jesus used the John 8 scripture concerning two men in order to show that dual testimony was necessary. Not that God was a man. God's and Jesus' witness is surely better than two men's. Jesus interpreted that scripture to require the testimony of two men. If...

Re: divine

... the the Holy Ghost descended in "bodily form" at Christ's water baptism. If He had no "bodily form," Luke lied to us about it. See Luke 3:22. That body, was a dove. Is the Holy Ghost a dove ? No, the Holy Ghost is not a dove. The Bible doesn't say that the "bodily form&...

Re: divine

Jesus said God was a spirit...not a man. Yes. Jesus did say that God is Spirit, in John 4:24. John 4:24 New King James Version "God is Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth." But, Jesus also said that God was a man, too. John 8:17-18 New King James Version &qu...

Re: divine

Dake, in God's Plan for Man, wrote: "God has a personal body, soul, and spirit like man. We have seen that they are three distinct persons in the Godhead and all of them are called “God.” If God has a body, soul and spirit and if there are three distinct persons in the Godhead, then each person...

Re: divine

Dake differentiated between the literal, tangible body of the Holy Ghost being limited to just one location and the presence of the Holy Ghost which may be felt by anyone that is in union with the Holy Ghost to the degree that that an individual is in union with the Holy Ghost.

Re: divine

It concerns me greatly that bro. Dake didn't believe the Holy Ghost is actually inside him/me. I believe differently. It's certainly a point of concern. Dake's logic makes sense, if the his logical chain that gets to that link is accepted. Do you believe that the Holy Ghost has a literal, tangible ...

Re: divine

Macca wrote: "You will be quoting klingon next." Doubtful. But, I think I heard that someone did translate the Bible into Klingon. If I ever learn Klingon, it'll be so that I can quote the Bible in Klingon. Macca wrote: "Copeland, by his statement 'you do not have a god in y...
