Re: Restoring a Fornicator to Full Church Membership
Can you tell me what it was you misunderstood previously ? I thought that you believed that if someone sinned after their water baptism, their baptism was invalid because their sin demonstrated that their repentance from sin was not real. I don't think that baptism can be invalidated by later sins....

Re: Restoring a Fornicator to Full Church Membership
There shouldn't be a delay, but that is what we would have seen if the adulterer in Corinth had repented. Or any of those Paul had noted were now gone from the church. I really can't think of anyone in the bible coming back after having committed a sin, in the NT, so I really don't have any example...

Re: Restoring a Fornicator to Full Church Membership
The sinner had already done his baptism, but hadn't done the repentance from sin. Interesting. I didn't realize that you believed that there could be a time delay between being water baptized and discontinuing the practice of any and all sins. Very interesting. There shouldn't be a delay, but that ...

Re: Restoring a Fornicator to Full Church Membership
Just to be certain I'm understanding you... If this had been your church and it was discovered that a baptized member of the church was found to be fornicating with his father's wife and you kicked him out, he can be restored to full membership in your church without being baptized, again? Exactly....

Do you know of any books that you would recommend that expound on the teachings of your church in an accurate manner?

Re: Water Baptism = Crucifying Jesus
Are you saying that water baptism is crucifying the Son of God? It is the "crucifying to ourselves" the Son of God. Never thought of water baptism, this way. Thanks for provoking this line of thought. Rom 6:3 says we are baptized into His death. We join with Jesus in His death, (and in Hi...

Re: Restoring a Fornicator to Full Church Membership
Regarding "his chance" being "used up..." Would you have restored the fornicator who had his father's wife, in Corinth? - See 1st Corinthians 5:1-13 and 2nd Corinthians 2:3-11. Yes, hoping this repentance from sin is real. Just to be certain I'm understanding you... If this had ...

Re: This Demonic Rubbish: Discerning the False Teachers from the True
That would depend on whether or not the sinner was already in "the" church ? (As opposed by being in some other church that was false.) If he came to us from the outside, we would baptize them in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins. If he was already a supposed member of ou...

Re: This Demonic Rubbish: Discerning the False Teachers from the True
It is the final key. Their sin has cost them the ability to meet the "blameless" requirement of a true bishop or deacon. (1 Tim 3:2) Repentance is available to them, but they have forfeited their "office". Would this repentance require a fresh water baptism? That would depend on...
