Re: The failure of holding fast.
I think you need to include the word water, because we all were baptismally regenerated, but water had nothing to do with it. I am sure you are referring to water baptism though :-D . I only met a few in over 40 years that believe in baptismal regeneration by water, or like doctrine. I found that m...

Re: The failure of holding fast.
Some key words in that sentence that really sets the two types of people apart are "if they still regard iniquity in their heart." A good example of a saved person that fell and still regarded iniquity in his heart was Judas. Judas was saved? One might ask what level of sincerity is required to mak...

Re: The failure of holding fast.
NO ONE on here that i know believes in : 1.baptismal regeneration You mean nobody here believes in rebirth? Or do you mean nobody here believes that when they are "raised with Christ" to "walk in newness of life" at baptism, that they have been reborn...(seeing as the old man has just been killed a...

Re: WHAT THE NEW BIRTH IS
Phil, Sighs. You are not reading my posts. I do not want to discuss your church doctrines on here anymore. The debate is going around in circles. It isn't "my" church, nor "my" doctrine. It is the doctrine which is according to Godliness. (1 Tim 6:3-4) I really hope you are NOT saying that rev. Dake...

Re: WHAT THE NEW BIRTH IS
You acts as if i have never heard that before. Then why do you continue trying to refute it? I have included some of the scriptures attesting to the truth. (Acts 2:38, 22:16) Which ones do you think are not of God? I was a member of 3 Churches that taught baptismal regeneration. Apparently they tau...

Re: The failure of holding fast.
Turning from sin and pleading with God the shed blood of Jesus Christ to cover ones sins is not a sin and to say otherwise is sin in my humble opinion. I agree completely' The answer to that prayer for the "covering of sins"...or scripturally said "remission of sins" is baptism in the name of Jesus...

Re: The failure of holding fast.
Turning from sin and pleading with God the shed blood of Jesus Christ to cover ones sins is not a sin and to say otherwise is sin in my humble opinion. You are correct, and God provides the method of application of the "shed blood of Christ" with baptism in Jesus' name for the remission of sins. Pr...

Re: WHAT THE NEW BIRTH IS
Act 2:21 And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved. Shall we go ahead seventeen verses and see why/where that is put into effect? Acts 2:38..."Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the re...

Re: WHAT THE NEW BIRTH IS
You are your testimony.
But a loving and merciful God has allowed us all to change our destiny with repentance from sin and rebirth.

Re: Is disputing and argument wrong? Paul did not think so.
My point in the thread using Paul as an example was that it is not wrong to dispute and argue God's word as long as it is done in the right heart. The intent of such is greatly respected. It is not about strife and contention at all, but growing in knowledge of God. As His saints, we desire what Go...
