Re: Unto what then were ye baptized??

It is also written that in seeing they do not see, in hearing they do not hear. The questions is which one of us is not seeing, which on of us is the gospel hidden from? Yes, you may have been filled, but that is no assurance you were filled with the right thing. To the hungry soul even the bitter ...

Re: Unto what then were ye baptized??

That could be one reason, but there can be many more. One who studies hard and exhaustive can be sensitive about what they have learned even if it is incorrect and has nothing to do with love for sin. Yes, I guess some might be sensitive when they discover they have wasted any portion of their life...

Re: Unto what then were ye baptized??

So that statement indicates that this death, burial, and resurrection brought regeneration that was accomplished at your water baptism into Christ's death. Yes, just as it is written in Rom 6:3-6..."Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death? The...

Re: Unto what then were ye baptized??

Including you ! Show my sin or recant this false witness. "Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God." (1 John 3:9) Thanks be to God, I have been reborn of Godly seed. Grape vines cannot bring forth figs...remember?

Re: Unto what then were ye baptized??

There is nothing new under the sun. Hill Top's odd teaching is a hybrid mixture of extreme Holiness mixed with extreme Pentecostal teaching mixed in with extreme Campbellism mixed with some ???? and some wresting of the Scriptures. What do you see is the final result of "my" teaching? It isn't a de...

Re: Unto what then were ye baptized??

And to think in 2000 years no one has ever taken the time to complete a study on it. No one has cared to have formulated a concise argument than this position is indeed what the writers of the original text intended. Amazing. It is written..."But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are los...

Re: Unto what then were ye baptized??

I think most on this forum know the saint is free from and dead to sin as well as the posted scriptures pertaining to that even if it were not admitted, however that is a sidebar to the topic at hand. I appreciate your zealousness about the free from sin topic and I loathe the falsehood of sinning ...

Re: Unto what then were ye baptized??

I am very familiar with this concept. Even have had quite a bit of reasoning with those that believe that water is required for saving of the soul. The only problem is the name "Baptismal Regeneration" does not fit their doctrine, it should be Regeneration from Water Baptism. More semantics? "Bapti...

Re: Unto what then were ye baptized??

I too would enjoy reading more about his doctrine. I have yet to find any material from the church fathers that would support this. I can't see it in Dake's writings, but even Dake is very contemporary. Say Wesley, Edwards, Luther, Augustine. Wesley was a big proponent of life without sin, but some...

Re: Unto what then were ye baptized??

Hill Top, I do find your positions on various topics interesting. I had heard of the idea of Baptismal Regeneration, but never heard the idea that the waters are the Blood of Christ. Would you mind explaining and expanding on why you believe this? I know you've posted a little, here and there, thro...
