Re: Context.

God has threatened annihilation of entire cities and has ended many - threatened to destroy populations and did so. I assume am missing something here about God threatening to do something. https://letgodbetrue.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/12/ark.png Yes. I am sure that any threatening God does is d...

Re: Context.

I disagree, God does not threaten anyone with hell. The meaning of words are important. What God does is WARN people that hell is the destination if they do not repent. The wages of sin is death. The eternal separation from God is the payment due for what men have done. The connotation of threaten ...

Re: Context.

"Agape" is the word translated, here, as "love" in all four instances. God's agape/love is conditioned upon obedience to Jesus' commandments. From this verse, we can learn that our actions prove whether or not we agape/love God and whether or not He will agape/love us. Likewise, it seems reasonable...

Re: Context.

Again this is our love towards God not his towards us. If the passage from Jude isn't clear enough... How about one from John? John 14:21 New King James Version "He who has My commandments and keeps them, it is he who loves Me. And he who loves Me will be loved by My Father, and I will love him and...

Re: Context.

I will say that there are too many passage that reveal, imply, or state that God loves everyone without condition. In my view, it is just the opposite as there are too many passages that reveal, imply, or state the conditions of God's love. We see quite differently through the many different lenses...

Re: Context.

Genuine might not be the right term. I wonder... I believe Esau genuinely repented to no avail because there was no longer an opportunity (Heb. 12:17). He was sorry for it, for sure, but his action was not something he could "turn from". Yes. It was too late. It reminds me that if God closes a door...

Re: Context.

Can a man repent without God’s love? They can and do when the repentance is a false one. A real repentance is a real turn from sin...ie, making the repenter an ex-sinner. If it is "false repentance" then it is not repentance at all. So again, how can a man repent without God's love? I would argue t...

Re: Context.

As I posted earlier, it is written..."The foolish shall not stand in thy sight: thou hatest all workers of iniquity." (Psa 5:5) God loves everybody, until they start to deny Him. Even then, only death can keep men from a repentance from sin. Can a man repent without God’s love? They can and do when...
