You raised some valid points. One of my concerns when the "argument" of "We have the mind of Christ" is presented comes with the "checks and balances" that need to occur.
I agree with that.
If our mind of Christ is different than His mind of Christ there is a problem.

Re: Acts 10:38

At the risk of yet another derail, Jesus was the Word made flesh, not God made flesh. Jesus showed His love, faith, and obedience to Father by submitting Himself to the will of God...in spite of the fear. He endured the pain and shame on our behalf. To the glory of God. I need you to explain the ab...

Re: Struggles

Since I posted I'll go first. I struggle, at times, with identity. I know what God's word says about me. However, I often struggle to realize the truth of this position. There are times I see myself as something in the "grab bag" of the world that was saved in the "whosoever" portion of John 3:16 b...

Re: Acts 10:38

OK, He asked for the cup "to pass from Him" instead of being "taken away from Him". Is that better? No, it is not because it avoids the purpose of the prayer. The prayer of Jesus was to consecrate, dedicate himself to the will of the Father. It was not about removing the "cup". Re-wording the praye...

Re: Acts 10:38

Sometimes, the answer is "No". Jesus did not get a “NO” answer here. He got what he prayed about... the Fathers will, not his own. Which He already knew and knew that His faith was evident. Jesus mission was the cross something He would never pray against The Father, correct? It is written... "But ...

Re: Acts 10:38

The cup, to me, is the ordeal Jesus was to endure. The cup, to you, is an attack by satan. Why do both have to be the same cup? There is only one cup mentioned in Jesus' prayers in the garden of Gethsemane. (Matt 26:39, 42) Even if that is the case (and I'm not necessarily conceding that to be), it...
