Re: How

Maybe you can find a place in your spirit to respect those that disagree with you as brothers and sisters in Christ and not make them part of the unsaved enemies camp because of your doctrinal view. If you truly compare folks that disagree with you to the folks in Isaiah, you fall seriously short o...

Re: Level of understanding - mind of Christ

You raised some valid points. One of my concerns when the "argument" of "We have the mind of Christ" is presented comes with the "checks and balances" that need to occur. I agree with that. If our mind of Christ is different than His mind of Christ there is a problem. Indeed, saying one has the min...

Re: Struggles

This may be dangerous. Is there a position, a doctrine, a principle of the Bible that you struggle with? Now, I do not mean to suggest, or imply, that you do not believe it, or accept it as true, but that apart from "knowing" it is correct you would not accept it as true. For example: I know some p...

Level of understanding - mind of Christ

A scripture that mentions the mind of Christ is often pulled out of context to support various doctrines and usually used improperly. That scripture is 1 Cor 2:16 which got me to thinking of another angle of the understanding of Christ that I think we often fail to consider when using that text. Tha...

Re: Acts 10:38

For sure. All we do know is that Jesus asked God to take it away...if it was God's will to take it away. We can only guess that the cup was the impending events or something else. I concur. A guess is all we have, although by the Spirit we can examine scripture and make an educated guess, even thou...

Re: Translations

How do you determine that the translators captured the nuances of the original text? Spiritually discerned. The person who walks in the Spirit examines all things. Do you consider the original audience when reading the Bible? Yes Does the situation and circumstances of the originally intended reade...

Re: Acts 10:38

OK, He asked for the cup "to pass from Him" instead of being "taken away from Him". Is that better? No, it is not because it avoids the purpose of the prayer. The prayer of Jesus was to consecrate, dedicate himself to the will of the Father. It was not about removing the "cup". Re-wording the praye...

Re: Acts 10:38

Sometimes, the answer is "No". Jesus did not get a “NO” answer here. He got what he prayed about... the Fathers will, not his own. Which He already knew and knew that His faith was evident. Jesus mission was the cross something He would never pray against The Father, correct? It is written... "But ...
