Re: Glorified ?

It is my understanding, from what I was taught at Rhema, was that people were, what we call saved under the Old Covenant. They were not “born again” as we understand it to be seen demonstrated after the resurrection. We may be splitting hairs here over the terminology. Hagen did teach that in the O...

Re: Glorified ?

Hagin's understanding of what happened in John 20 when Jesus breathed on the disciples does pertain to how he understood salvation. How so? What are you assuming from that position? It might be my brief explanation did an injustice to what Hagin’s intended meaning was. Did Hagin believe that anyone...

Re: Glorified ?

I really appreciate Hagin's view on this. When I first started digging into Dake's material, I didn't realize how differently Dake believed concerning salvation than Hagin did. Comparing and contrasting the differences can make for a great learning experience. And, to think that theirs' aren't the ...

Re: Some very sad news to report

"May the good Lord take care of him forevermore." Amen. Billy and I have had some great discussions, debates, and such during the many years that he and I have been on this board. We disagreed on much, but agreed on a whole lot more. I learned a lot in my discussions with him (and not always what he...

Re: Glorified ?

Brother Hagin explained it as follows. Everyone that is saved has been sealed with the Holy Spirit. But there is a difference between being sealed by the Spirit and being baptized in the Spirit. The latter is obtaining the Spirit without measure. When Jesus breathed on the disciples in John 20 - th...

Re: Glorified ?

That is correct, regarding the "timing" of the giving of the gift of the Holy Ghost, but the root of my question regards John 20:22..."And when he had said this, he breathed on them, and saith unto them, Receive ye the Holy Ghost:" The Holy Ghost can and is given in different ways, at different tim...

Re: Glorified ?

Agreed, Grandfather.

Though, He was "glorified" at other times before the Acts 2 Pentecost, the glorification under discussion is talking about the event preceding the Holy Ghost being given on that Pentecost.

Re: Glorified ?

Just as the word "saved" can refer to different things and/or have different meanings in different contexts, so too can the word "glorified." In this context, I think it refers to the ascension, after which Pentecost followed and the disciples were filled with the Spirit in the upper room. But, in a...

Re: CFoS/CL: Raised on the Third Day? Or, After?

John 19:31 says it was an high day. Dake writes as follows on this verse: [sabbath day, (for that sabbath day was an high day)] This was Tuesday sunset to Wednesday sunset. The next day was a "high day" (Jn. 19:31), a special sabbath of the feast, not the ordinary weekly sabbath, which was two days ...
