The commentary right in the middle of the Scripture itself!

Swaggart did what others have done.

When sinful and committing the same sin three different times. He needed a some way to get people to believe that NOW he had changed - thus the message of the cross. What better way to get the point across than to ADD to the Word of God his distorted message of the cross.

Branham did the same thing with "the message" that he begin to preach about in the 1960's just prior to his death in 1965.

Many false doctirnes are created when sinners make an attempt to justify evil deeds or the wacko doctrine they preach.

I thoroughly agree with you on this! I think it is arrogant to interrupt the Scriptures with personal commentary.

Also, I have said the same many times that he has justified his behavior and permitted another doctrine to cover the aftermath. He will tell you that his saxophonist was saved and then continued for 3 years being a drunk. However, he was still saved but failed to properly put his faith in the cross is Jimmy's explanation. According to the Bible the man was not saved and Paul noted he CANNOT inherit the Kingdom of God. I believe the bible not Jimmy's supposed new revelation.

Ron Carpenter recently made a statement that blew my mind. He made the claim that a homosexual can be saved (continuing in their lifestyle) but they will not receive of the blessings of the kingdom - BUT they are saved. These guys leave me shaking my head at such foolishness!

That is a common OSAS teaching, though I am surprised that Carpenter is advocating it. Never understood how they got "kingdom blessings" only out of not being able to inherit the kingdom.

LOL, I got that one at home. After buying and reading it I felt that there was no need for me to spend money on his commentaries

i knew you two would agree.

all theses stories A.A.Allen being bound by alcohol, troubles at Grace Cathedral and the Swaggart story are horrible BUT i hate to judge. :agrue:

i think Swaggart has repented long ago.
i think he has come back. Why stone him any more or that poor sax player??

all powerful addictions and bondages... drinking and drug use, porn use or homosexual behavior and religious spirits which are very powerful and other bondages.these are caused by demon power being in the people bound.

it takes a man like my late Pastor who was the greatest man of God i ever knew to expel those things from the bound.those things feared the Christ in him and his powerful relationship with Jesus.

Yes I just listened to a video by him.

Seems he has bought the grace message hook, line and sinker....

He says homosexuals can be saved they just don't inherit the Kingdom of God!

The falling away of the church is in full force!

The fault in Bible complications is not with God or the Bible, but with men who refuse to believe what God says and think we have to interpret what He says in order to get the meaning. Dake Bible -Mark 11:17 note

I couldn't believe my ears when I heard it! I think they have finally arrived where they always wanted to be. A salvation without change, guaranteed favorability of man's opinions, social acceptance by all saving themselves from all persecution.

A sad state indeed.

You know Reuben...

What you said is my bottom line on all this sin like the devil but still be saved deal...

2 Corinthians 5:17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.
18 And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation;

The kind of salvation they are teaching is NO change at all and against the Bible teaching as Paul stated in the verse above.

This verse describes them for sure!

2 Timothy 3:5 Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.

They deny the power to change!

You hit the nail on the head!

This has spilled over to our politics and seemingly every facet of life it appears. Political correctness has made nations extremely vulnerable to terrorism because truth is afraid of. They run from the very thing that sets people free. I see this in DC and all along the political spectrum here and abroad.

They purposely misdiagnose problems and redefine words such as hate. If you stand against opposing views you are labeled as a hater and bigot. These are methods of intimidation to make you submit all the while they are screaming intolerance on your part.

I see this in Christendom as well. I speak the truth and oftentimes I am labeled as an angry preacher full of hate. Then I am reminded of what Paul said when he was labeled the same way.

Galatians 4:16 (KJV)
16 Am I therefore become your enemy, because I tell you the truth?

One thing for sure, you place the biblical demand for responsibility in their walk with Jesus and you draw more ire than an Englishman sitting in an Irish Pub!

One thing to remember

Truth only sounds like HATE to those who HATE hearing the TRUTH.
