I am not perfect at this time yet it is my desire to grow unto perfection. I am free from sin in Christ Jesus. If I should turn to serve Satan and no longer a servant of righteousness then I know my end is spiritual death apart from God.

This above points have to do with instantaneous sanctification. There is also progressive sanctification and complete sanctification.

Proof of Progressive Sanctification:

1. Statements of Jesus (Lk. 9:23; Jn. 8:31; 14:26; 15:3; 16:13-16)

2. Statements of Luke (Acts 13:43; 14:22; 15:41; 16:5; 18:26)

3. Statements of Paul (Rom. 1:11,17; 2:7; 4:12; 6:3-22; 7:4-6; 8:1-13; 11:20-22; 12:1-21; 14:19; 1Cor. 1:7-10; 11:31-34; 15:58; 16:13; 2Cor. 3:18; 5:9; 7:1; 10:4-6; 13:11; Gal. 5:1,13,16-26; Eph. 3:16-21; 4:1-32; 5:1-18; 6:1-18; Php. 1:6,9,25-27; 2:12-15; 3:7-15; 4:8-9; Col. 1:9-29; 2:3-9; 3:1-17; 4:12; 1Th. 2:2-13; 3:1-12; 5:11-23; 2Th. 1:3-5; 2:13-17; 3:3; 1Tim. 1:18; 4:12-16; 5:21-22; 6:12-14; 2Tim. 1:13-14; 2:4,19-26; Tit. 2:7-14; Heb. 3:6,12-14; 4:11; 5:11-14; 6:1-2,11-12; 10:23-39; 12:12; 13:20-21)

I believe you are right billy,

Luke 18:19, "And Jesus said unto him, Why callest thou me good? none is good, save one, that is, God."

Romans 7:1, Know ye not, brethren, (for I speak to them that know the law,) how that the law hath dominion over a man as long as he liveth?
2, For the woman which hath an husband is bound by the law to her husband so long as he liveth; but if the husband be dead, she is loosed from the law of her husband.
3, So then if, while her husband liveth, she be married to another man, she shall be called an adulteress: but if her husband be dead, she is free from that law; so that she is no adulteress, though she be married to another man.
4, Wherefore, my brethren, ye also are become dead to the law by the body of Christ; that ye should be married to another, even to him who is raised from the dead, that we should bring forth fruit unto God.
5, For when we were in the flesh, the motions of sins, which were by the law, did work in our members to bring forth fruit unto death.
6, But now we are delivered from the law, that being2 dead wherein we were held; that we should serve in newness of spirit, and not in the oldness of the letter.
7, ¶ What shall we say then? Is the law sin? God forbid. Nay, I had not known sin, but by the law: for I had not known lust,3 except the law had said, Thou shalt not covet.
8, But sin, taking occasion by the commandment, wrought in me all manner of concupiscence. For without the law sin was dead.
9, For I was alive without the law once: but when the commandment came, sin revived, and I died.
10, And the commandment, which was ordained to life, I found to be unto death.
11, For sin, taking occasion by the commandment, deceived me, and by it slew me.
12, Wherefore the law is holy, and the commandment holy, and just, and good.
13, Was then that which is good made death unto me? God forbid. But sin, that it might appear sin, working death in me by that which is good; that sin by the commandment might become exceeding sinful.
14, For we know that the law is spiritual: but I am carnal, sold under sin.
15, For that which I do I allow4 not: for what I would, that do I not; but what I hate, that do I.
16, If then I do that which I would not, I consent unto the law that it is good.
17, Now then it is no more I that do it, but sin that dwelleth in me.
18, For I know that in me (that is, in my flesh,) dwelleth no good thing: for to will is present with me; but how to perform that which is good I find not.
19, For the good that I would I do not: but the evil which I would not, that I do.
20, Now if I do that I would not, it is no more I that do it, but sin that dwelleth in me.
21, I find then a law, that, when I would do good, evil is present with me.
22, For I delight in the law of God after the inward man:
23, But I see another law in my members, warring against the law of my mind, and bringing me into captivity to the law of sin which is in my members.
24, O wretched man that I am! who shall deliver me from the body5 of this death?
25, I thank God through Jesus Christ our Lord. So then with the mind I myself serve the law of God; but with the flesh the law of sin.

With my mind I serve the law of God, but with my flesh the law of sin! That's me billy!

With all my heart and mind I cleave to that which is good! Romand 12:9, Let love be without dissimulation. Abhor that which is evil; cleave to that which is good.

Galatians 4: 16, Am I therefore become your enemy, because I tell you the truth?

Romans 7:24, "O wretched man that I am! who shall deliver me from the body of this death?
25, I thank God through Jesus Christ our Lord. So then with the mind I myself serve the law of God; but with the flesh the law of sin."

I made up my mind to get out of the sin business years ago but sadly I still can and often do sin every day, by accident, or without thinking.

I'm wondering? if this is so, and if it isn't possible to cease committing sin, then salvation isn't possible, then Paul was not saved for Paul himself ended writing Romans chapter 7 in verse 25 with, " So then with the mind I myself serve the law of God; but with the flesh the law of sin." and it seems neither am I?

Galatians 4: 16, Am I therefore become your enemy, because I tell you the truth?

What scripture are you basing the above statement on? I have heard this taught before yet have never found any substantiation from God's word on this. Please explain what you mean by "Jesus Christ was perfect"?

According to God's word Jesus grew, learned, ran away from his parents at a young age, was tempted as all men are, and overcame sin like all men have to do. The primary difference is that Jesus did not give in to sin and the devil.

1 Cor. 15:34;
Awake to righteousness and quit sin in view of the resurrection;
for some have not the knowledge of God: I Paul speak this to your shame.

If as Paul says we can stop sinning then it must be possible, its all the more important to do so
in that some do not have a close knowledge of God.
We by our actions of not living righteous cause others to believe they can live anyway they want and still inherit the
Kingdom of God.
We both miss God.

The New Testament is replete with the fact that we no longer serve sin or live as a sinner.
We now live unto God in holiness and righteousness, sin free born-again from above new creatures in Christ Jesus.

Lutherans also believe a person can be converted as often as necessary. They refer to it as "reiterated conversion". This is from the Lutheran Cyclopedia:

Men may fall from grace after conversion (David, Peter, Hymenaeus, Alexander). Unless the sin against the Holy Ghost be committed, they may again be converted (“reiterated conversion”; David, Peter; Eze 18:23–32)
