...by the fear of the LORD men depart from evil.

Post by bibleman »

Prov. 16:6 ¶ By mercy and truth iniquity is purged: and by the fear of the LORD men depart from evil.
PRO. 16:6 Dake note.

{a} By mercy and truth iniquity is purged: and by the fear of the LORD men depart from evil By the mercy and truth of God atonement for sin is made and iniquity is purged; through fear of Him men depart from sin (Jn. 16:6; Tit. 3:5).
Can the grace message being preached today produce a departure from evil?

The fault in Bible complications is not with God or the Bible, but with men who refuse to believe what God says and think we have to interpret what He says in order to get the meaning. Dake Bible -Mark 11:17 note

Please tell me your understanding of "the grace message being preached today" and how it is different from the grace message that Paul preached in Romans?

The grace message being preached today says that your sins are forgiven past, present and future. That once saved, you need never repent or confess sin again. Thus no fear of God or eternal damnation.

I won't say you've haven't heard that, but I can say it's not the message I've heard.

Bibleman asked;
"Can the grace message being preached today produce a departure from evil?"
.

Yes. Here's my understanding of the Grace message taught in the Bible.

I can't earn it, I cant buy it, I don't deserve it. Its a totally free GIFT, given to me from a merciful God on my repentance and my acceptance of the sacrifice of Jesus Christ for the remission of all my sins. I pray every day for Gods protection and forgiveness, and I thank God every day for His freely given to me, "Grace!"

By the sacrifice of Christ and His shed Blood, and by the unearned by me, the undeserved by me, freely given Grace of God I am saved.

1 Corinthians 10:30, For if I by grace be a partaker, why am I evil spoken of for that for which I give thanks?

Ephesians 2:5, Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;)

Ephesians 2:8, For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:

Galatians 4: 16, Am I therefore become your enemy, because I tell you the truth?

Hi Ironman,

I agree with your thoughts concerning the grace message that is being taught in the Bible....

BUT that is not what the famous grace teachers are now teaching. They are teaching that a person can be saved from all sin and it's penalties and yet they can continue in sin! They say that our sins are forgiven past, present and future and we need never ask for forgiveness of sins since they are already forgive. They are teaching that a person once forgiven of sin can never be punished for any other sins and can never fall away from God. It is a version of OSAS.

The modern day grace preachers stop with Romans one through five, whereas the apostle Paul followed up his grace message with the holiness message of Romans six through eight.

Thanks Bibleman. Well I do not agree with that. That's teaching once saved always saved, as you mention in your reply and that's wrong.
